Default ATI 4870X2 , Rivatuner 2.22 auto fan control -- Preferred settings for 4870X2? - 01-28-2009, 10:40 | posts: 4,693 | Location: Spain

Hello to all
First of all, Rivatuner --> excellent tool
I have been playing with the auto fan control, changing the values (after putting a 3 on the power user registry) in order to achieve a more o less "default" configuration for my card (4870X2).
Right now, with Far Cry 2 at highest specs, the card does not go beyond 60 Celsius. Let’s not talk about how the fan accelerates / decelerates

I have read guides on how to set up / modify the auto fan values, but (almost) all of them are NVIDIA cards based / related (included that great excel spreadsheet guide I found somewhere).

I am wondering if anyone has a configuration for the 4870X2 that can be shared, to compare it with mine.
I do not have mine right now, but I will post it tomorrow.

Even though the temp is OK, I have the feeling that I do not know exactly what I am doing (maybe because of my English).

Thanks in advance.

PD: my main objective is to "close" a standard configuration for the card, so I can share it with anyone having the same questions I do.

These guides (including that great excel spreadsheet) explain you the basics of ADT7473 fan controller tweaking, the same controller is in use on your display adapter so you can safely use these guides. T

yes, you are right about the controller. It seems that now, all I have to do is to figure out the right configuration, at least for me.

I will go over the guides again to see if I understand all the conccepts.

Anyhow, if anybody is willing to share theirs, I'll be thankful.

Thanks in advance,

Johnny
