Default Z-5500 Help with setup - 01-07-2009, 17:57 | posts: 10

Hi

During setup of this speaker system I've had difficulty getting the front right speaker to work. When I use the speaker test in entertainment mode on the x-fi xtrememusic all speakers report their positions correctly but the right front speaker has no sound but I hear a slight sound from the subwoofer. Then when I test the subwoofer I hear a untuned radio sound from the right front speaker.

I switched the system off at the subwoofer master switch and came back after lunch to switch it on again and no power. I've changed the fuse in the plug and no luck but their is a fuse in the subwoofer itself. I've done some searches on google and found that this has happened to other people but I can't find exactly what fuse is required in the subwoofer.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

Return them as they are defective. Atleast that is my professional opinion.

Thanks for the link

It's possible they could be defective but after searching through the messages at logitech I've found out which fuse I need to get for the subwoofer. Some people have managed to get their systems working again by replacing the fuse.

Should the system work with the replaced fuse what about the other issue I was having before I lost all power? Was the problem with the one speaker a sign of the system being defective?

Update

After posting on the logitech forum they said the fuse would need to be replaced in the subwoofer. I've put in the new fuse and it is now working again and I've got the speaker problem sorted The fuse required is a 2 amp 250v time delayed sloblo.

The system sounds great

The fuse fixed the radio statio issue? -Somtimes this can happen becasue of sheilding and will happen in one position but not another. Hope you have good sound no with no more troubles. Makes me wonder what blew the fuse thoguh.
