New HDTV trying to connect HDMI, no signal??? -

Just bought a 32 inch HDTV and it comes with a VGA Pc port, however, it also comes with 3 HDMI inputs and I've got a GTX 280 and a DVI to HDMI adapter... It says no signal and in windows doesn't recognise a TV??? WTF.

update: Got it working, had to buy a DVI to HDMI cable, the adapter that came with my graphics card didn't work...
