This Core i7 related article will cover Multi-GPU gaming both ATI CrossfireX and NVIDIA SLI in combination for the all new Core i7 processors. We are not talking two GeForce 9600 GT's in SLI or a set...

what the hell...man i couldn't believe my eyes when i looked at does charts...damn, huge performance increase for crossfire and sli, i don't think for single the performance increase will be so big, i doubt it would even exist...but for multi-gpu it's a very good thing..

what power, this cpu really shows the true power of a 3-way sli or a crossfire hd4870x2

i7 3DMark CPU score: 15,000+

Core2 CPU score: ~4000

I think that sums up my opinion.

OMG , That was en epic review , evil , very evil Corei7 , i cannot believe how fast that cpu makes the high end multi-Gpu systems run , talking about bottleneck lol.
Thank You very Much Hilbert Great Review , it took me an hour to read and examine and compare grapics , i imagine how much work and effort you guys put into this article. Best article ever on a new architecture. one word to sume it all ''AWSOME''

Sorry for the language.

What a **** is this performace ?
I never realised we are bottlenecked by CPUs that much!.

Fact that you cant OC these CPUs like C2D ( Yay 1.8 -> 3.6Ghz.., on air).
I wont be buying them fast ;(
I wonder how cheapest CoreI7 performs vs lets say E8400 @ 3.6Ghz or maybe 3.8, as any model can clock that high.

Once again, great review Hilbert...really amazing, and a constant source of me not finishing my homework ><

Question though, i noticed that the OCZ RAM was rated at 1.8V. As i recalled, anything above 1.65V would fry the CPU. Has there been a fix that i havent noticed or were the Core i7s run towards their deaths?

That was a great review, Hilbert. Once again a new architecture that stirs up things for the better. AMD is going to have hard time answering to this. They may come up with new CPUs that might catch up to the current (or should I say older) generation of Intel CPUs, but it looks like they will be no match for the i7.

A slight mistake on the second graph on page 10
You've written: '4870 X2 CFX - I7 965 - X58 - E8400'

Why not use a QX9770 to compare, to compare an E8400 that costs about 12% of that Ci7 (where I live atleast) seems odd...
I'll bet you the numbers would be a little less impressive when apples to apples are compared... The Crossfire 2x HD4870x2 performance is very close on other sites, SLI on the other hand seems alot better on the X58..

Would be great to see some QX9770 comparision or any quad core on same clock as i7.
For now Hilbert tested a quad core (i7) versus a dual core (e8400)
I know these 2 are in the same price range, but i think the i7 has a lot more performance thanks to his 2 extra cores.
It is in mulithreaded optimized games the i7 really shines.
I hope Hilbert will add some quad core scores to the charts, so we (quad core users) can see or it is worth to jump on the i7 bandwagon

The 965 Ci7 is about 8 times more expensive then the E8400...... Same price range you think?
