CPU-Z shows incorrect speeds on AMD 5400+ BE -

Hey guys, just a little curious why my cpu-z seems to believe that my athlon x2 5400+ Black Edition is still running at stock speeds even though I upped the multiplier from 14 to 15 which = 3.01ghz. Windows and Sandra both show the cpu running at 3.01ghz but cpu-z still shows it at 2.8ghz. Interestingly both Sandra and Cpu-z show the multiplier at 14 still and they both show different voltage levels. All I changed in my bios was the multiplier from 14 to 15. I'm confident that my cpu is running at 3.01ghz properly but it's just a little disconcerting that cpu-z is not showing those numbers.

If anyone has any insight on this, it would be greatly appreciated!

I believe I do by default on my mobo. When I had my older athlon 64 4000+ single core I did have cool n quiet on and when I oc'd that cpu from 2.6ghz stock to 3.2ghz cpu-z showed the correct numbers (however that was an oc based on mobo fsb). So does cool n' quiet affect multiplier overclocking?

cool n quiet changes the clock speed of the processor, I believe by changing the multi, when in low usage mode.

try running some sort of CPU benchmark in the background and see if CPU-Z still says the same reading, because like said above, CPU-Z shows the current processor speeds, while most other programs read what the bios is saying is supposed to be

AMD cool n quiet down clocks your cpu by dropping your multiplier and voltage. Windows only shows the initial Clock speed before it changes it with cnq. Sandra may just "agree" with that, or use something similar.
If you leave it enable in either the OS or Bios is will still work. You have to disable cnq in both the bios and os.
FYI: C'n'Q is diable by changing your power managment setting to performance (or always on) in the os. You can find info on this in most overclocking guides, but i know from experience.
