178.13 is a big ol NOGO here......

"Strike 2", Same exact issues as with 177.98, DV broken, Grid & Crysis Working fine, BF2142 " Bottom display section of the screen showing a semi-transparent box arround everything., ALL backgrounds are 100% washed out as if someone jacked the BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST to the max, lol.... non-playable".......

Yes Driver Sweeper Used as per usual, did complete reinstall of both Physix & 178.13 2x (no change in status)....

Back to 177.92 (works perfectly)....

Just as a note: To date I have never had any issues with DV or games untill 177.98 & 178.13....... There has to be a common problem between those of us who cant use it & those whos PC it runs fine on (with DV no less lol).....

Suggest people who post in here prehaps start posting their OS version maybe?> "naww that would make too much sence roflmfao......."
(Some do..... Most dont....) <<EDIT: Sigh, Scratch the OS posting part, was not aware of the GURU Forum Skin...... , learn something new every day i guess...... lol.....

Basic Specs:
Win XP64 Pro (SP2), DX9c 080808 Update, PhysiX 080904, nHancer 2.4.2 Installed.

If I already have the newest PhysX drivers installed, is there any reason to uninstall them and install the ones that come with this driver?

No.... The driver package will simply bypass the install since there are no changes to that specific build of the PhysX driver itself.... (Been there done that and had no issues at all....)

Thanks...that's what I thought.

Next question...

Are the PhysX drivers in the Guru3D download section the same WHQL version as on the NVIDIA website?

Yes... If the specific driver build or version number is the same, "they are in fact one in the same".....

Finally! Are these the long awaited "Big Bang v2" drivers that were promised by nviidia to be released in Sept of this year? I have been curious to see if these drivers are all its cracked up to be.

NO.... these are by no means the BIG BANG II drivers... that is slated for the 180.xx Series, although the most recent drivers do have many of the new features that will be released with the 180. series.... (For beta testers of the most recent releases *I wouldnt hold my hand on my #$% for any great performance increese other than what you are seeing now... could be wrong "and would like to be", but loll..... unless Nvidia has something major up their sleve, not expecting much more than what we have now lolol....... "but thats just my opinion"...

Can say the 177 series as a hole has brough about quite an increese in performance & options "at least for my hardware rig".... errrum, with the acception of the last 2 WHQL releases rofl.... 177.98 & 178.13 (they work great for some configs & are worthless for others hehe).... but they are working on it...

well i thought it was all working good but i guess not.
everytime i disable sli and then enable it it messes up my profile rules in ntune and now i have to go create another one.
i will have 4 of the exact same rules showing in ntune (in just a minute)
it dont look like there is anyway to clear the rules

as to battlefield 2142 (like the previous poster stated) i havent got to try that out yet.

as soon as i get ntune working (so it loads my profile on windows boot i will test...

should only be a few more minutes.
will report back with info on bf2142

Is There any way of not install the PhysX driver?
Is there any difference in performance with or without it?

I know that i have to do my own testing, but I am not in home.
Thanks!!

I thought big bang came early (august) in form of Physx via graphicscard..?

#70, diegollum, look at post #12. Performance is the same for games without physx. For game with physx the fps might drop a bit but you get the physx physics.

i got some issues with these, lol never really had problems, might be something to do with nhancer, dunno but i couldnt get cod4 running... some error about 2d texture and miss mach...never saw this before, i restored to driver default in nhancer and still the same, and also profiles are broken they worked fine some time ago, but no more since 177...
And in fear i got some kind of stutter also never seen. Strange i might reinstall without nhancer, just to see otherwise back to 175.19...this physx crap might be the issue too lol

edit: removed nhancer and reinstalled , cod4 works now, but still no profiles in controlpanel.

Most of the "big bang II" are already out - with the exception of sli multi-monitor support. They are just spanned across different drivers - a few drivers have openGL 3.0 support, a few have the performance increases, they all have PhysX now pretty much and Cuda support.

Win XP SP3 32bit DV partially works. Not resetting to max on reboot, but control slider has only 0-33-66-100% positions.
