hey all,

as stated in the title. i get about 5200 for my 8800GTS. Max 5400 if i recall correctly. But most of the times its jst 5000. What do ppl normally get?

For my CPU, i get sometimes 175~ for some projects. 1500~ for other projects. Why is this?

I'm sorry but a 9800gt is not more powerfull than an 8800gts512.

An 8800GTS512 = a 9800GTX with slightly slower ram.

My 8800GTS512 with it's oc is exactly like a 9800GTX+

i OC'd my 8800GTS to 738/1836/1107
more or less same as a 9800GTX. lucky you could get ur GTS's up to the 9800GTX+ speeds

for my CPU then?

My gts averages 6000ppd on 795/1980/1134, I can pull couple hundred more with a little added juice.

Yes that is fine. Have you set the gpu2 to a specific core?

could be the affinity I mentioned or the WU.

What O.S. do you use? XP uses far more cpu with gpu2 than vista. (I hates Micro$haft)

You hate them.. Where would we be without them! lol To the op, make sure you have all the necessary flags applied to the smp client. Otherwise it might freak out every now and then. This is what I had to apply, works much butter now.
-smp -local -forceasm -verbosity 9

sry i dont get the flags you should apply to the SMP client. im not sure that im even running the SMP client ><

@Lichelord
I'm pretty sure the CPU clients r locked to a specific core. How is it that the speed to complete a WU differs so much?

Also, i hav SLI setup. i can only run one client. For some reason when i turn off SLI, i lose control of low-level fan controls for the secondary GPU, ie iono if its gna overheat and what not when running gpu folding and kill it

You have to use the -smp switch in the smp client shortcut or it will only run on one of your cores.

So do my 8800GTS512 cards. That still doesn't make a 9800GT faster.

I am pretty sure the 8800gts has more overclocking headroom than the 9800gt.

the 9800GT has a smaller die size doesnt it? smaller die size=better temps=better overclocking; possibly, lolz

back on topic, i hav no idea what client i installed, though when run, it opens a command prompt that says Folding@Home Client Version 6.20. I hav a quad so i run 3 of these. If i want to run the GPU folding, i leave 1 client on with the GPU client. It still feels lik something's not getting enough juice therefore PPD's down a bit
