Question Your Favorite Firefox Add-ons - 09-08-2008, 02:13 | posts: 399 | Location: United States

What are your favorite Firefox Addons???

I could not live without some of those little helpers that make Firefox soooo cooool.
Here is the list of mine....

Adblock Plus...blocks adds.

Better Gmail2...enhances Gmail with a compilation of user scripts and styles.

Colorfull Tabs...colorful tabs color every tab in a different color and makes them easy to distinguish while beautifying the overall appeal of the interface.

Customize Google...enhance google search results and removes ads and spam.

Delicious Bookmarks...access your bookmarks wherever you go and keep them organize no matter how many you have.

Download Satusbar...view and manage downloads from a tidy statusbar.

Download Helper...download images and videos from many websites (youtube for example).

DownThemAll...the mass downloader for Firefox.

Duplicate tab...allows you to duplicate a tab or merge the window.

FireShot...adss the ability to take a screenshot of the page, edit and save, copy to clipboard, send to external editor or email it.

Flagfox...displays a flag depicting the location of the current server.

ForecastFox...get international weather forecast and display it in any toolbar or statusbar with this highly customizable extension.

Googletoolbar...we all know this one.

Google Preview...inserts web site previews in google and yahoo search results.

Image Download...downloads all the images on the page.

KeyScrambler...protects you against key loggers.

WOT...security rating for web sites...more...

Undo Closed Button..enables you to reopen closed tabs.

Tab Scope...preview and navigate tab contents through popup.

NoScript...extra protection for your Firefox...more...

Tab Mix Plus...very nice extension, unfortunately it`s still not compatible with the newest version of Firefox.

Also you can post the screen of your Firefox look.

There's too much going on for me there, at the moment I'm running Firefox 3.0.1 with the iFox 3.0.3 theme. To be honest though, I've never really tried any of these add-ons so I don't dispute their uses

I had some slow down issue with TOR or maybe it was not setup properly...don`t know.
If you want to stay even safer, try the Keyscrambler too.
(I like No Script plug-in too)

I am really liking the ad-block plugin now and I should have known about it ages ago. It even blocks those annoying "snap banners" that you pops up when you hover over the links on sites like tomshardware.

I didn't see in the thread yet:

Add Book Mark Here
At the top of every expanded bookmark folder it adds a clickable entry "Add BookMark Here". Instead of right clicking and navigating a seperate window used only for adding bookmarks, you navigate the way you open bookmarks. Much easier to see where a book might be better placed.

BBCode Xtra
Sometimes but not always faster and more convient when replying in forums and creating links, changing fonts, and other stuff.

Digger
Breaks down URL's into their components with clickable links. Good for finding or examining complicated and long URLs.

FoxyTunes
Replaces most media mini-players, and provides search functions for what your listening to.

Favicon Picker 3 (or 2 as the case may be)
Got a bookmark with no icon, pick one, make one and pick it. Makes navigating book marks easier when some have icons instead of default .ico graphics.

Cute Menus Crystal SVG

Sounds whimpy, but it adds icons for context and toolbar menus. Much easier to find cut, paste, undo, edit, etc etc.

If your missing TBE then Tab Mix Plus is pretty good. Not quite as complicated and with less options but it gets the tabs opening where you want and has a nice mouse buttons option too.

English (Australian) Dictionary - Pretty self explanatory.

Net Usage Item - Shows how much you've download and tells you how much you're ahead/behind of your running allowance, daily and total. Very convenient, especially for Aussie ISPs. Right now I'm 3mb under the running allowance .

Tabs Open Relative - Again, self explanatory.

Hey all, some cool addons there...Can anyone tell me is there an addon for my Daughters laptop with ff 3 for restricting what she can view? I have tried looking for content restrictions and only allowing appropriate websites but i cant find a setting for this.
It would be cool if there was an addon for ff to restrict her viewing instead of downloading a different program.
Any tips would be cool,
Thanks.

P.s
theres a post in these forums somewhere with greasemonkey and youtube scripts for ff to make yt hd and diff size/quality vids...anyone know where it is please?
