After more game testing I've come to the realization that these drivers are crap. Went back to the 92's and things are much better.

If you don't know what it is and have never used it, don't. You'll be much happier for the experience. DV is bugged in the drivers and doesn't save your setting, better off to just leave it alone.

Dunno, whatever suites you better. Try moving the slider and observe the difference, simple as that.

P.S. I keep mine at 30%

Yeah, it's bugged here too...or at least it was bugged, now it works great after using Driver Sweeper and reinstalling the driver one more time.

But in general DV is great, everything looks so dull without it

I've never liked DV, it just feels like overbright and ruins how colours are supposed to look, kind of like how Best Buy etc. always turn display TV's to 'torch mode' to try to trick people into buying them by having the colours pop, even though it looks totally inaccurate and wrong.

I'm going to stick with the 177.83 Force Within drivers until 180 comes out, doesn't seem like much of a reason to jump to 92 and 98 sounds buggy as hell.

Vista 64 is the most used 64-bit OS :/

64-bit XP isn't near as popular, and other than the 64-bit builds of linux you can never ever find decent repos for I don't think there are any other 64-bit mainstream operating systems ^^

Uh yeah, zinger. Need help getting your foot of your mouse, Intellimo? And Firefox is not that far off from being the most popular browser, so even your analogy backfired:

Mac OS X Leopard is 64-bit, so there's quite a substantial number there.

(Not meant to start another lame Windows/Mac flamewar, just adding info to what's already been discused.)

No, please do not give misleading information. That web page says:
"Bare in mind this to be considered a beta driver, use it at your own risk. NVIDIA does not officially support them."

Yes it talks about one driver because you choose one, but it is the same for every one of them. How a non-nVidia released driver supposed to be whql?
Don't forget that you can't get a whql certificate for your driver if you don't have the legal rights. They don't really care if a tweaked driver performs well or not.

So, downloaders, they are NOT whql certified.

You must not have been around here that long (nothing wrong with that). If you had, you would've known that nvidia release or leak WHQL-signed beta drivers all the time. Possibly because getting drivers approved from Microsoft takes quite some time, and if the driver turns out to be polished enough for public release, they want to be able to release it as fast as possible. However, if you use a modified inf-file with a WHQL driver it will not be detected as WHQL anymore because modding the file changes the checksum.

I'm on the 178.92's currently but I'm going to try these drivers to see how they do with Crysis Warhead which is a great game but buggy as all get out, crashes much much more than Crysis itself ever did.

On another note, I've always wondered about this Digital Vibrance, what is it and why should I care? On mine, it's always at 0%, I've never played with it but I've seen much weeping and gnashing of teeth over it...

Governator, it automatically enables at about the second boot and sets itself to 100%. Plus the DV meter is sometimes broken, although you can set it to 0% each time you boot, it'll still go up each time you reboot which is annoying.
