Pre-big bang drivers promoting performance increases over 10%???

I hope Nvidia left some extra performance increases for the real deal... i.e. 180.xx

Downloading now... <--- Am I allowed to say that? Some ppl might cry...

Oh - I haven't used the banana emote (it's traditional right?)

Excellent, one last driver to test on my 8600GT before it gets replaced with the 9600GT tomorrow 177.89 was good for games but when it came to Folding @ Home they sucked. Hopefully 177.92 fixes that temp problem I have with running Folding @ Home GPU2 and I can complete some WU's.

some of the other have that habit, so will be coming back on this soon.

Downloaded and installed

Everything seems fine, SLI works, DV works, also in SLI mode. I'll be gone for some 30 minutes to try some gaming

UT3 including PhysX works fine and so does FEAR Combat

Default Installation question - 08-26-2008, 07:56 | posts: 50 | User is Offline

Does the "beta" file from nVidia direct link have both the 177.92 and the PhysX in it? If so, will it automatically upgrade both when I run it?

Yes, I know... I am supposed to manually un-install each driver before trying to install a new one, but I have never had any problems. I just dont know if PhysX will correctly install a newer version of itself over the previois one.

Advice is appreciated!

Thanks....

I wouldn't know since I haven't actually checked the fps in ETQW with previous drivers. ETQW worked great in all of them I just played ETQW and it's smooth as a baby's bottom

They say "The following are examples of improvements measured with v177.92 WHQL versus v175.19 WHQL driver" so that 175.19 is already 'old', no?
