Geforce 3 and Voodoo 3 200

Hi 
 
I wondered if any one can help me , i have just brought a new PC with a Geforce 2 mx 400 ( i have now upgraded it to a Geforce 3 ti 200) , in my old PC i had a Voodoo 3 200 PCI which supported GLIDE but my Geforce does not ( as its a 3DFX only thing ) , what i would like to know is can i put the Voodoo in my new PC as WELL as the Geforce card so i have the best of both worlds as some of my games , eg Pro pilot 99 etc etc , are 3DFX only other wise i have to run them in software mode .

If I'm not mistaken, Alienware PC had done this kind of configuration some times ago. Windows do support dual display using either 2 VGA card (1 AGP & 1 PCI or 2 PCI) each with one vga output OR using 1 VGA card (AGP or PCI) with dual vga output (eg. matrox G450, radeon cards). Alienware does this using an AGP Geforce cards for primary display, directX and OpenGL games, and a PCI Voodoo3 for Glide games. However they are using only one monitor for both card and they use an external switch box (output from both cards goes to the box and only one output goes to monitor) to select which card the user want to use. I had a college friend who bought one of those Alienware systems, it had 3 video cards! He had a Voodoo3 in his AGP slot and two Voodoo2 PCI running in SLI, he would use both for different applications and games depending on which performed better, it was a sweet system when he got it.

Voodoo2 PCI was a '3D only' cards. Dont have 2D VGA core so it cant operate on itself. It need either a 2D or 2D/3D combo VGA cards to run. (Voodoo2 PCI in SLI was a little faster/more ram for texture/higher fillrate than a single Voodoo3 2000/3000, that in your college friends' PC story) In Keenrw case, both voodoo3 and geforce mx was a 2D/3D cards.
