Question Advice For a Newbie Please ! - 07-08-2008, 12:21 | posts: 25

Hi guys, new to the folding lark. Have my office 5000 X2 folding, together with my HD3850. The GUI for the GPU shows a blanked (not coloured) molecule, is this normal ?
Is it automatically included in my overall score ?

Best wishes to all.

What do you mean blanked?

Screenshots and a view of the log will show us whats going on.

It could just be that a work unit that has no real visualisation for you to see and you may have got that.

I can see the molecule with it's constituent spheres rotating, but they are all coloured black. I don't know if it's a driver issue - are different drivers better /worse for folding on the GPU, or is it completely driver independant.

If its worked before then I'd leave it, you could try different drivers but be careful which ones you chose due some of ATI's recent ones not supporting folding since they had to make them availble for the Hd48xx users.
