Imo far overpriced for what it can offer. It's generally not much faster than HD4850 yet it costs like 100 euro more.

4870 is going to blow this card out of the market. Stupid move by Nvidia pricing it so high.

Aye. It's good, but not good enough.

Although I was impressed by the performance increase once overclocked. Almost 280 GTX levels of performance. And the 280 GTX hardly overclocked.

I wasn't impressed by that price, either. Twice the price of a 4850 is a little bit much, imo.

As a side note: I find it a little bit confusing, that the order in which the 9800 GTX and the 4850 are presented, is changing from chart to chart, in the charts themselves. One time the 9800 GTX is the first, the other chart the 4850 is. Just a little confusing, imo.

I'm sure Herbert would gladly take that into consideration if you let him know your disapproval.

I guess that Nvidia really isn't interested in the more affordable market this time. More towards the high-end power house. And the price for the GTX 260, well $400 for something that's just a bit over the 4850, not that big of a deal to me.

The problem with that is, the 260 isn't really a powerhouse, it's a fast card, but it certainly isn't the fastest and considering you can get a 4850 for $200 (in some cases $150) which offers nearly the same performance for half the price. It appears that nVidia is more interesting in making everyone ask them why they think they are in Bizarro World

The 4870 owns this card at a lower price point. Even if it gets a bump in performance with drivers, it still has to make up 100 dollar difference. 4870 vs 260 is a clear winner currently with current price/performance ratios.
