Just copy it from the driver folder into the windows destination folder, think itīs system32 folder or close.
You can unpack the drivers with winrar and then you need to run the unpackdriver.bat wich I added as an (attachement) #code# to unpack the compressed files. Then you can copy the nvapps.xml to your system folder.

regards

PS.: figured I couldnīt upload a file so here comes the code for the unpackdriver.bat ..... copy that to a blank editor and save as unpackdriver.bat
Put that into the unpacked driver folder and double click on it, there is your plain nvapps.xml

Code:
expand -r *.??_
ren *.cf *.cfg
ren *.cp *.cpl
ren *.dl *.dll
ren *.ex *.exe
ren *.hl *.hlp
ren *.sy *.sys
ren *.tv *.tvp
ren *.xm *.xml
ren *.bi *.bin
ren *.ba *.bat
del *.tv_
del *.sy_
del *.ex_
del *.dl_
del *.xm_
del *.hl_
del *.cf_
del *.cp_
del *.bi_
del *.ba_

What is it youīre confused about so I can provide help?

nvapps.xml should reside in C:\windows\system32\
thatīs where you would have to put the extracted file from the driver, prolly a restart needed to get it recognized by the driver.

hope that helps

Not so. If you open the nvapps.xml file in notepad there are no games listed.
You can use the cp to add games manually however.

Turns out you don't need 1000W to run a nice rig as I found out.... watch out for the PSU companies trying to suck your dollars
It's not the wattage I was concerned with, at most 600watts is the most anyone will ever consume on their computer, however, it's the amperage on the 12V rails, I didn't think that PSU would be beefy enough!

you have to open xml files with internet browser to kinda have them readable or be able to understand what code is written in there...

And i thought i was the only one with the empty app profiles.

Use cmd / expand nvapps.xm_ nvapps.xml in the extracted 175.19 folder and copy the xml in the windows/system32 dir...
also to run older opengl games like mohaa you need to write the profiles in the reg with nhancer and do a reboot.

I wonder how these drivers get whql....

installed these, notice no improvements at all over the previous WHQL, 175.16 (Vista x64 with 8800GTS 512MB)

but OC works (tested lil' higher than my 24/7 clocks: 787/1998/1098), RT works also.

Desktop stays 1680x1050, icons arranged as before uninstall, game list is normal (previous game settings erased/defaulted).

so far tested CoD4, Crysis, Frontlines, Quake4

175.16 and .19, probably same files

Rich_Guy - you always make me laugh when im trawling the forums and your 4 bit problem surfaces again!

I doubt very much that its dodgy hardware, just bad technique for upgrading drivers...

Best not to fix it tho, I love hearing about it!

The 177.39 & phys-x drivers r great for me on vantage and crysis. I went from 12,550 on vantage to 19,000 and crysis was much smoother. I play Age of conan the most and any of the 177's including the 177.39 have major shadow issues. I have to turn shadows off all together when using them. I will try the 175.19's and report back. If you don't play AOC then the 177.39's are hot. If you do, check back and i'll let you know how these perform with 3-9800GTX's and vista 64.

I'm not installing these over the 177.35 unless someone can confirm that the IQ is just as good. 177.35 my first modd inf driver and let me tell you the difference is so big its incredible! I couldnt believe how much better the 177.35 looked over the 175.16 whql. I had to reinstall the 175.16 to make sure my eyes werent playing tricks on me. With the 177.35 theirs so much more clear and richer colors its like theres 8xAF being applied but its not, and the edges seem like they have aa being applied, but again there not. All of this with the same fps as the 175.16whql Seriously ppl, try for yourself you cant deny how much better the 177 series over the 5 week old 175.16+. Shader optimizations they bark? Please.. This is a ploy for nvidia users not to use the best drivers they have for previous gen cards i think. Its all marketing, scandless Nvidia, they play dirty.
