Default E6700 stock cooler temps? - 06-10-2008, 18:17 | posts: 1,193 | Location: Sweden

Well my new rig is starting to become a computer.
I finally got the processor today, an C2D E6700. Now i just have the harddrive, OS and dedicated monitor left.

What i would like to know is what is normal temps for an E6700 with a stock cooler?
Because according to the monitor in the BIOS it leveled off at 41c. Is this normal for an idle or should it be lower?(once again stock cooler).

My E6550 never rises above 40, which is very good considering how warm the room in question is. I'm using stock cooler also.

I don't think you need to worry about 41.

the bios is rarely accurate, dont trust it.its probably running cooler but youll have to check it with realtemp or core temp to see the correct reading.

The bios only monitors the sockets ambient temperature anyway, not the actual temp of the CPU. See what Realtemp says when you get the system up and running.
