Read the review on this and have one question. Why are the ram chips left thermally unprotected? I mean @ 972 MHz they gotta be roasting. I see the power circuit is protected. Humm just an observation.

I'd imagine the airflow from the fan is enough to keep things stable.

Why do they let you assemble it yourself? I know that it's cheaper and all for them (and us) but there's also the risk of destroying something (with ESD for example)...

Besides that I love the noise level and temperatures.

BTW: The 189-199 USD stated in the article isn't that cheap either, to be honest. I can get an 8800GT (512 MB) for that money - with an installed cooler.

Hmmmm self assembly graphics cards sound about the same risk as self assembly condoms....
