Finally got this driver to install.Had the 169.25 for so long.Did'nt think l would ever be able to upgrade again. As it has been a pain in the old butt lately with incapatiability issues of these drivers when it came to my 8800 GTX.Increases are good 1000 in 3Dmark 2003 and ozone 3D fur benchmark 150 mark increase.

Yeah about time that there was a major driver update on nVidias site. Worth the wait though as these are very nice.
Only a small increase in 3DMark06 from my previous driver 169.44 but IQ seems improved.

Still no System Tray icon after god knows how many driver revisions for Vista users!!

I've upgraded to Vista x64 from Vista 32bit to see if it would cure a problem I have and it didn't! I'm sure AA + Bloom is broke on my 7950GT PCI-E card as I've never got it working on HL2:Lost Coast or AA working in Crysis on ANY driver from 16x.xx to 17x.xx!!

Performance is OK'ish 212fps in CSS Stress Test with default options, but with AA broke on all drivers I've tried (even under XP 32bit SP2) I'm not sure if my card is fubar?

Nice driver for my WinXP.

Good IQ, 300 points more in 3DMArk06 and no texturecorruption in older games like MOHA:Spearhead.
Also Oblivon, COD4, Flatout 2 and Battlefield series runs smooth and look nice...

Keepers for now!

System tray icon? I got over not having one a long time ago. How can you get any more convenient than right-clicking anywhere on the desktop? Let's see, go down to the tray, find icon, rats, icon hidden, show hidden icons, click . . .

I do. I haven't noticed any major performance improvements, nor any kind of decrease in image quality, but I haven't noticed any loss of performance either. If anything I might have gained perhaps a few extra frames here and there, but those types of tweaks are probably unnoticeable to our eyes, we would need synthetic benchmarks to see the mathematical differences, which during actual game play doesn't really make a tangible difference. But with all that said, that's with my system, I can't speak for others.

This kills the hang I got when booting Vista where I got a black screen and my mouse cursor for likr 30 seconds which is really nice. Also the CP seems to be much faster and doesn't seem to hang (as much, lol) as it used to and all of my resolutions are back now.

Keepers so far.

These are going extremely nice for me XP32bit.

174.70 was good, apart from some crashes in Hellgate. Those are taken care of in .74.

Lets hope this is the turn around they need.

since:

Quote:
NVIDIA drivers responsible for nearly 30% of Vista crashes in 2007

That huge bundle of damning emails and documents Microsoft produced as part of the Vista-capable lawsuit is full of fascinating information about how the company developed, planned, and launched Vista, but the latest juicy nugget to come out if it suggests that a lot of problems faced by the troubled operating system are actually NVIDIA's fault -- nearly 30% of logged Vista crashes were due to NVIDIA driver problems, according to a Microsoft data included in the bundle. That's some 479,326 hung systems, if you're keeping score at home, and it's in first place by a large margin -- Microsoft clocks in at number two at 17.9 percent, and ATI is fourth with 9.3 percent. Now, the chart doesn't contain a ton of additional information that would help put it in context -- a specific time period in 2007 would be nice, as would and driver and OS versions -- but we've been hearing about NVIDIA issues with Vista from the start, and this seems to confirm it. So that's pressure by Intel to support incompatible chipsets, outrage by Dell and Wal-Mart that the Vista Capable program was confusing customers, Microsoft executives saying they had been "personally burnt" by Vista, and now what looks like a huge NVIDIA driver problem -- who knows what else is going to come out of this lawsuit? At this point we're half expecting a photo of Gates signing a Save XP petition.
