This might not be the right section, if so, mods move it wherever it belongs... Basically, I'm looking into various packages (Virgin, Sky...) at the moment. This is what I'm looking for:

- decent internet with at least 30gb cap, ideally uncapped.
- decent tv package (either sky or virgin or BT)
- possibility of multiroom for TV
- anytime free phone calls and phone line included in the price (latter not essential)
- it has to be under £40 (before multiroom if it costs extra)

Tiscali is out of the running, because I can't get it here. But if you gurus wouldn't mind sharing your thoughts on BT, Virgin or Sky packages, I would highly appreciate it. Share your thoughts and experience please. Thanks.

Ta m8, I'll check out Virgin... Any other suggestions?

EDIT: I've checked out Virgin. It's ok, I don't at all mind the 2mbit net speed. That is sufficient, I don't need any more really. What I need on top of that is a decent tv package, unlimited calls, no line rental and multi-room!!! All that under 40 quid. I can't seem to mix and match that on their website. It's either very little or way too much...

I have taken up an account with Sky.

I have the 8 meg broadband connection, almost all the TV chanels (except movies, childrens and sky sports), and free calls on a weekend or evening.
Its called 'surf, see, speak' (or similar).
This costs me £25 per month. They even give me a free Sky+ box. I did have to pay £30 installation though.

I used to be with BT for my internet, and they charged £23 per month just for the 8 meg broadband. So i pay an extra £2 for the TV and phone.

You still need to pay for a BT line at £10, no matter which one you go with.

When i downloaded things with BT, they would DL at about 200 kbps, they are now coming in at about 660 kbps, so the connection is LOADS better.

Not sure what it caps off at, as i have never needed to find out.

Thank you PCthug... The £26/month Sky package comes with 8mbit internet and a 40gb usage limit (more than enough for me)! Is it all wireless? I do like the old fashion cable running from the router.. My PC is not wireless anyway... http://mysky.sky.com/portal/site/sky...getall3/combi2

I might go for this in the end... Ta m8.

It comes with a wireless router.
However, this is plugged directly into my PC for a faultless wired connection.
I could use my 360 or laptop downstairs wirelessly if i wanted to, but i have 'Homeplugs' and use them instead.

If you go for this one, try to see if any friends have Sky already. They may have received a leaflet stating that if they recommend a friend, you BOTH get a Sky+ box for free. The Sky+ box has a hard drive and allows you to record things onto it. Thats how we done it. Now we have + and so does the wifes parents.

Ta mate, I'll check with my mates if they received the leaflet. The plus box would be a nice bonus, but I can go without it for sure... Also, how do I go about getting multi-room? Do I just get the £26 package and then call them separately and ask for a multi-room setup? It's something like £10/month isn't it? Sounds good, thanks for your help...
