And PGR4 has bikes, which are a pointless add-on like they were in Test Drive Unlimited.
Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy street racers and the likes of Forza, where you can track race production/racing cars. But ultimately I resort to the more skillful, intense "true" sim racers. The PC is where they are, at least until GTR is released on the 360...maybe.

Is it ever going to be released tho? I know I'd buy it, it would be an awesome title for the 360!

Outside all the which is better rubbish( which i couldnt give a toss about as long as each is enjoyable ), whats the game like to play? does it feel the same as GT4? is there much difference in the feel of the cars and the driving? is the AI mind bogglingly fantastic, or 80% same as before but a few things have changes? Does all the new stuff add much to the game? does the demo have online and if so whats it like?( or is it crap because all the servers are in Japan??? )
Opinions please?

No online play, the AI is difficult to judge because the cars are stock (there is no crazy, suicidal blocking like in Motorstorm if that is what you mean), but I have noticed the AI cars do spin out if you tail end them and they leave the track, then again I have only played it on the standard setting. In the demo itself there isn't that much new stuff that I can see, but then again it's all in Japanese which I cannot read so who knows! It plays well, similar to GT4 but it reminds me of GT2 as well, but as with everything else, my last memories of GT4 (and how I play it now when i revisit it) were cars tuned to my liking and not stock, so generally lower, firmer suspension, better brakes, more power etc, but there does seem to be a better impression of speed for standard cars. I think I sussed the TCS and ASM systems (and how to turn them off) and first impressions are very good so far. But that is all they, first impressions. Graphically the cars are gorgeous and some of the set piece backgrounds look awesome. The tracks themselves look very good in the replay in motion, but they are quite plain compared to the lavish backgrounds of PGR4, but ofc there is time to rectify that and with no city courses a direct comparison is tough to do.
Hope that helps a little!

Perfect, exactly what i wanted cheers. Ive seen the AI spin out a few times in GT4 when you tail end them( especially in the high power performance cars ), so it sounds kinda like that, maybe it happens more frequently? Sounds overall positive which is cool, i just hope the full game isint like GT4/GT3/and GT2 in that you have to neigh on start from scratch earning all the cars you already had in the previous version, reminded me of grinding in RPG's, i didnt think GT2 was that bad at it though as in some races you got decent cars when you won and it was per race, GT3 and 4 you had to race several circuits before getting a car, grrrr

Simbin still has it as "in the pipeline" on their website. I emailed the development team a few weeks ago, asking whether or not it's still happening for the 360. I've received nothing yet and as far as I know they have no new publishers.
I still reckon Microsoft had something to do with THQ pulling out with a pathetic excuse. They probably saw GTR running on the 360 and thought 'we can't let this go out before Forza2, it'll destroy our sales'.

GTTV now has 3 videos available to download, more news too.
Also the game has two modes, one is like GTHD called starter the other is called pro based on GT5
But you'd be better with a wheel for that mode.
If you turn the music off you can hear the engine better and also the wind of slipstream around the car, the sound of the wheels on the road, just turn all BGM sounds off or down to 10-15%
Using the controller i prefer to use L2 and R2 some prefer the right stick.
As far a i can remember the options are
Controller Options
Accererate
Brake
Gear Up
Gear Down
Reverse
Handbrake
Change view
Look Left
Look Right
No Setting
Menu BGM and SFX
Race BGM and SFX
Replay BGM and SFX
If anybody has the New Dual Shook 3, vibration is available in the demo.
The steering wheel has an extra mode
Amateur
Professional
Simulation

Is it just me or was everyone doing that from GT3 onwards? GT2 music was pretty cool after that engine noise only

No disrespect to the vehicle itself though, I know a few Impreza owners and they are amazing vehicles but looks have never really been their strong point. Bet it will be fun to drive when you give it about 600-700bhp in the game.

Press release
Subaru offers the new AWD performance icon
Concept
The new WRX STI was developed with the eternal theme and essence of the driver’s car, the “total driving control,” that the preceding WRX STI models also pursued. This AWD sports modelgives maximum driving pleasure through its combination of power, performance, handling and ride capabilities thanks to engineering exclusively designed for the WRX STI and its five-door package. It also balances excellent safety and environmental aspects at a high level.
Styling
Using a new five-door body style developed from the Impreza model, the new Impreza WRX STI displays a powerful design language that speaks directly to its performance credentials, integrating function and beauty. Adopting shortened front and rear overhangs, a longer wheelbase and widened body flares, the Impreza WRX STI clearly embodies driving performance in dynamic exterior design that delivers as overwhelming presence and beauty.
Performance
The new Horizontally-Opposed 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo charged engine was developed exclusively for the new WRX STI. By further improving the basic performance of the engine, and mating it to SI-DRIVE (SUBARU Intelligent Drive), the WRX STI offers not only outright performance as might be expected, but also delivers excellent handling under extreme as well as normal driving conditions.
Featuring Subaru’s unique Symmetrical AWD and specially developed in-house 6-speed manual transmission as its base technologies, multi mode DCCD* and VDC**, which control traction and stability more precisely, have also been added to WRX STI. To complete its performance credentials, the evolved chassis by “Subaru Dynamic Chassis Control Concept” has dramatically improved road-hugging capability and will provide exhilaration and confidence in every driving situation.

Hi everybody, i was playing this demo yesterday, its unbelievably goood, but one thing i dont get, screenshots and videos about this game looks like there is higher AA level than in actual game, i am not saying its bad in the demo, but not as good as it looks for example on screenshots here in the forum, on these there are NO JAGGIES, in the demo there are, so these scrns are filtered, or whats going on?
If someone know the truth PLS tell , as far as i know GT5 prologue should be 2xanti-aliased, thats from QJ.net
thanx for info

1) Cant remember the size off hand but I am certain it is not anywhere near 4.5GB.
2) There is a lot of Japanese text but there is also enough English in there to bumble your way through to actually play the game pretty easily. Some of the more advanced options are a bit of a mystery to me but I'm sure someone can help guide you through them.
Try it, if you don't get on with it delete it, simple as.

Yes that might be true. I saw some interview with developers and they said that time GT5 prologue would run at 60fps but replay would be 30fps for all special effect and various trick they use to make it look gorgeous All racing games use that technique

Well just tried this demo, cars look great as does the road, but the surrounding area textures are all just guff, and its not like there is a lot of stuff for the PS3 to render seeing as its just a racing track with some barriers, the odd stand and grass and sky could all have come from the previous games....
Plus add to that the lack of any animations outside the cars wheels and lights, no damages again in the game and that bloody stupid racing line the AI cars stick to like a brick wall.....
I was expecting so much more from this title, i have to wonder why the released it in this state as its not dissimilar to the already available GTHD demo......
