Laptop/Radar Dectector Woes

I wonder if anyone else has experienced the same issue. I received a speeding ticket the other day so I thought I would pull out my radar detector that has been in my closet for the last couple of years. Due to that I commute 90 miles each way to my current project I normally have my laptop set up with an air card so I can communicate and surf the web. My issue started when I turned on my radar detector and the laptop at the same time, the radar detector went crazy with the laser warning. So I went into the device manager and disabled the optical drive rebooted and there is still no change with the detector. I can't think of any other device that uses a laser in there or if I disable the optical drive in the BIOS too going to help?

i highly doubt its ur cd drive sounds like it is a electrical interference

my laptop does the same thing, you said you had the aircard meaning wireless internet? that probably what it is becasue my radar detector pick it up off my laptop and and every radar dish for tv in the DFW metroplex. its more than likely the netcard thats setting it off
