I get this error when I try opening my nvidia control panel, and also the nvidia control panel shortcut added to the right click menu has disappeared. I searched on google and in the forums, is this normal?

i don't get it what error are you talking about? as for the popup menu item, you'll have to verify that nvcpl.dll is at the following location:

%SystemRoot%\system32

i'd suggest you reinstall your display drivers altogether
