Certainly does work in SP1...been running SP1 for the past month. Keep in mind that Test Mode is different from DISABLE_DRIVER_ENFORCEMENT, in that while DDE can only be done per boot via F8, Test Mode is persistent once you set it in the BCD (until you turn it off, of course). Now, in Test Mode, you still can't run unsigned drivers as-is, but you can self-sign them (which is what my batch files do for ATT) and they'll run, for all intents and purposes, like the genuine article. The rub is, if you self-sign the ATT driver in Test Mode, you have to stay in Test Mode for it to continue to run, which, so far as I can tell, there's no real downside to.

Excellent, i like it , need to do it on gf's PC which is just hooked upto the telly and pretty much just a media centre, but id like ATT working on it, so Test Mode wouldnt be an issue. Cheers, ill try your files this evening

Excellent...glad I could be of service
One more thing...I may be mistaken, but I believe that any self-signed drivers are tied to the particular machine the certificates and self-signed drivers were created on, so the batch files may need to be ran on each Vista x64 machine that needs to run ATT.

I agree...at least MS built in the Test Mode so that people could self-sign drivers. It's a bit of a pain, but at least it's workable.

It does require you to set Vista in Test Signing mode in the BCD settings for ATT to work in Vista x64, but it is a viable workaround at this time and I have had no issues over the past couple of weeks or so that I've been running in Test Mode (other than the nags in the screen corners).
Best of all, it doesn't require Ray to pay for a signed driver and us Vista x64 users can use ATT again!
The files (ZIP format):

I hope people find this workaround useful...meanwhile, I hope that Ray will think about letting the community contribute towards the costs of a genuine signed driver for general release.
Ray, just so you know, I really do appreciate the work you've done on ATT...IMO, it's the best utility for ATI cards out there (sorry, Unwinder and W1zzard )

See my initial post above...I've created a self-extracting RAR file and also edited the atidrvsign.bat file to use the %SystemDrive% variable.
Good luck and cheers

Is there any way to start ATT without using driver at all? I don't need overclocking but i'd like to use tweaks and settings. Disabling features at installation didn't help at all...

No way. ATT required low level driver not only to work with hardware but to read and write to the registry in LOCAL_MACHINE

Yes. Because of compatible issue when you are not administrator or when you in 64 bit OS.

Well, compatibility for 64bit clearly sucks if it's not working at all...
Any chance to get the tweaks so i can enter them manually in registry?

I've tested the talon_262's tutorial and I don't understand the point five on Install Test Certificate English.nfo
I already run ATT but the message "Test mode" appears in the corners of the screen on desktop. When i execute the command bcdedit.exe /set TESTSIGNING OFF and after reboot, I can't run ATT again.
So, I miss the point 5 on tutorial. Where I should overwrite the original driver?

Damn I was so happy yesterday that ATT for 4800 series has been released, just to realise that it doesn't work under vista 64...isn't there any way to make it work permanently without having to hit F8 each time or doing stunts each time to get it going???This is ridiculous...

Am crossing my fingers for that one day ATT will come with signed drivers, in one way or another. I know we got readydriver plus, but there is something about it that i think is a bit fishy...

I'm sitting in TESTMODE since the day of SP1 release. And I can say there are difference between testmode and normal mode. Except of test mode text in corners of desktop. But I don't see desktop 99% of times when working

At the Moment i use Atsiv.exe to load ATT Driver , odr to start Rmclock/ RivaTuner etc.
Works perfect. I have a simple .bat in my Autostart Folder to load the ATT Driver via Atsic at Vistax64 Startup.
http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.ph...7&postcount=33
I know Atsiv should be disabled by MS. Bit it works 100% for all People i know.
I use Vistax64 Sp1 with latest Updates
About the Test Mode :
So far i can Remember ATTs Driver works as soon Vista is running in TestMode.
Signing the Driver was not necesarry?!
I was running Vista test Mode over a few Month and it was always stable. Test Mode should be no Problem and no Reason for any kind of Problems
Also you can disable the TestMode Watermark on Desktop
Sadly ReadyDriver+ wont work for me, so i still use Atsiv

I also migrated this way because ready driver does not use any resources. It's not a TSR program, it simply runs, auto controls the F8 and auto selects disable driver enforcement for you then terminates. I went this way because my server demands enough with all the other stuff on it. The down side is that you don't know what else could have been written in that code, and it takes about 4-5 more seconds to boot. It's just another option out of three I know of now.
