I have followed CLOKKEVI's howto below..

    http://forums.guru3d.com/printthread.php?t=95150

But for some reason, when it comes time to check the box
"Use ROM straps for PCI DeviceID programming"
it's greyed out and i cannot check it.

Can anyone advise what the problem is?

    TIA

That porblem is that you should read context help for the options you're going to use. Help for it clearly tells that ROM-strapping is not supported by GF4 or older hardware.

Very well, but i was following (to the letter) CLOKKEVI's post on soft modding GF4s. So i assumed that everything in the howto was tried tested and true, and left nothing up to chance. Thats why i followed it, and thats why it was written.

Anyway, thanks for pointing that out, appreciate it.

Just to add, the "turn on professional features" is not available either.
As far as the patching of nv4_mini.sys goes, the only mention in the howto of scripts is
    Softquadro & NVStrapantiprotection.
Did this howto miss any other scripts that i should be running?

BTW, im trying to mod a GF4 ti 4200 on WinXP SP2

    FYI:

    1) ROM strap for PCI DeviceID programming only available on GF5 series and above.

    2) turn on professional features only available on GF 6 series and above. (I believe so, I have both FX5200AGP and GF6200PCIe NV43 rev A2)
