15,000, that all? =)

Completed 7,400,000 out of 10,000,000 steps (74 percent)

I have heaps of steps to do =P
I finished my last unit 75% ahead of time, which is why I tend to jump larger scores.

Stanford has been having all kinds of server problems recently, hopefully they'll get it sorted out soon.

We need to get to the Top 100 to get included here, then there is just soooo much more info available about team members, points per day, overtake threats and conquests etc etc. We need to get up to around 54K points per day so get all your cpu's folding people

I've cracked the Guru3D Top 20 this morning and climbing, looks like my future position in the Guru3D team may be fourth or fifth.

What are the early end units? (Have a look in your FAH folder, there is a notepad FAHLog) Sometimes it's just a dodgy unit but most times it is hardware related, normaly an unstable oc or over heating.

I have a Pentium M 1.4 folding and it doesn't like it unless it is in an aircon'd room around 22°C any higher ambient temp and it goes toes up and constantly eue's

Edit: Also for those using the console client and or with FAH running as a service there is this neat little GUI if you need to keep an eye on your folding, it's called EMIII (Electron Microscope III), it has several UI styles, the one shown here is the basic info 13 client view but you can get a pic of the atoms in other views.

the log file doesnt say anything about it, thats the strange part. the only logs in it are dated may 8th, and the lappy restarted a WU today.

thanks for the offer, but i just reinstalled it to see if that would solve it, so i havent got the FAHlog anymore, and there was no FAHLog prev.
what i remember though, was that it said that there was no work, downloaded a new unit, and the last the 40000 out of 8000000 steps completed thing. at the beginning it said the date(8 may), and that was about it, but i dont think that will be a lot of help.

shame we don't know what WU it was, it could have just been a dodgy unit, if it happens again post the log, most error messages from hardware related failures have "cpu about to explode" in them, Stanford has quite the dry sense of humour.

It does take a long time to complete a job that big.

Running it a couple of hours won't be enough, the job will probably take a couple of days SOLID work.

i realise that, but on my normal computer, every time i start up the folding client, i get an entry in the log about the state of the unit, and i noticed i dont have that on the laptop.

Have a look at the pic I posted back up there ^

A 3404 takes about 72 hours full time folding (on my Northy 3.2), if you are shutting down before it completes a step then every time you reopen it it runs the last step from the checkpoint, you may get stuck in a "loop" of verifying the checkpoint, shut down, verify etc, try leaving it on for half a day and see if there is any change.

Here's my log for the same unit, see the two step 5's, also note the WU takes ~ 41 minutes per step. The times where it takes approx 75 minutes per step would be when I'm multi tasking (gaming ) so if you are multi tasking as well as folding during your couple of hours on then there may just be too few cpu cycles to complete a step, did you set the cpu to 100% at idle when you set up the client??

You may wish to try the console client as opposed to the graphical client, it uses less resources.

Code:
