No, the two GTX275's are in my sig set up & the 9800gt/8800gt on an old socket 939 DFI Lanparty ut cfx3200, AMD 3500+ (single core), 256 DDR, 400 watt psu, 80gig 4500rpm 2.5 SATA HD.
It is just sat on the desk at the moment I hope to fit it in to one of the draws of a stacker storage unit (will post pic's in Guru rig's gallery when I get round to doing it).
I also need to get another Akasa vortexx neo cooler like on the 8800gt for the 9800gt as the temps are a little high (81c compared to 52c on 8800gt).

That still leaves me with one more AM2+ mobo and 5000+ BE to play with in the future.

i see, for a second i thought you had 4 gpu running on the MSI bored, i was gonna say if you were you would greatly be reducing PPD

you should set a folding farm up, i just got my power bill through, its only gone up ~£8 more with me running 2 machines running day and night folding, so providing i can raise some funds i may invest in 3 more GT's and get them running, but thats funds providing!!

The plan is for a farm, but it will not be any time soon, I'm in the same boat as yourself (short of funds) I only need two more gpu's every thing else I have already.

Fahmon is showing 22030ppd (2 x 1888, 1 x 511, 1 x 472 wu's).

yeah money sucks

i wouldn't rely on anything but 511 wu for average ppd read, especially 1888 the time frames vary so much it makes it very inaccurate but from my knowledge, i reckon you will average ~20k mark, which means im gonna up my game if i wanna catch you

any chance you can get me a few pics of your set up

only 102.....guess my only advantage over you is the fact you dont fold 24/7, i might start overclocking my 260 see if i can squeeze somemore from it

I would not go mad with overclocking, you don't want to have another GPU die..
(It's not a compertition. lol)

4 x 511 wu's running and showing 18520ppd still a little short of 20000 but close.

Hello,

Ive decided to join in and use my 2 x GTX 280's for more than just gaming. i will start playing around with the GPU clients tonight and no doubt you will hear from me in the help section

I have read through the "how to" guides ETC so i just want to make sure that if i am just running the GPU clients, that they will stil contribute towards the guru3D overall score?

cheers

The answer to your questions is yes if you just run GPU clients you will contribute to the Guru score (as long as you set the correct team id).
I only run GPU clients myself.

What OS are you running?

Thanks yoyo69

Im running vista ultimate 64bit at the moment, it has been stable and performing nicely for me so im going to stick with it for now.

Im looking at running the gpu sys tray client (from what i have read the console version can have trouble with vista) should i disable SLI and setup a monitor on the second card before i kick off the install?

or

Install the sys tray, then change the SLi settigns ETC and setup the second GPU. (i will be using the instructions off the stanford site for seting up dual GPU's) THIS > http://folding.stanford.edu/English/WinGPUGuide

cheers!

i'd recommend running the console client, im running windows 7 on 3 of my folding machines and console client are fine all systems are stable, with the 190.38 beta drivers you dont have to disable SLI to fold (read this on another forum) so it may not require you to physically plug your second gpu in

that guide is fine to follow, once your setup, take a look at HFM.net this piece of software will allow you to monitor your progress and show you valuable information you cant see otherwise

other than that, welcome to the fold

right, it is indeed folding, there are some work units which show that error, best bet, go insude the f@h directory delete the work folder and queue file, and the core, let it redownload everything again and work

if you card if overclocked, decrease clock speeds, folding will "stress" your shader processors more than any application out there

also monitor your tempertures have been known to cause problems

I rebooted the PC and started fah6.exe again (.exe in the F@H folder) it has started a new job now.(using HFM to monitor) Progress 5%, PPD 7880.3, PPD/MHZ 11.258, CREDIT 1888, ETA 5:27:45.

It seems to be using one GPU in the SLi setup (GPU 1) wich is second in the SLi chain. it seems to have skipped over GPU 0.

INFO from Rivatuner
GPU1 = 702mhz SHADER = 1404 MEM = 1102 TEMP = 67 AMB TEMP = 62

ppd seems spot on, just a few more than my 260

did you define the gpu0 and gpu1 flags? you need 2 seperate "f@h" directories

I setup a seperate F@H directory and its using the gpu 0 flag
the other has no flag but automaticaly selects gpu 1 (with the gpu 1 flag it would say there were driver issues)

Right now ive got both GPU's going (using HFM to monitor)

GPU 0: - PPD: 6354, PPD/MHZ: 9.484
GPU 1: - PPD: 6941, PPD/MHZ: 9.888

Thanks for your help happy!

theres no need to have multiple F@H folders, all you need is seperate shortcuts each with a different start in folder set.

Righto, after a bit more playing around i figured out the setup was just using the one GPU core. i had to disable SLi and Physx, then setup a second monitor on the second card. unfortunately it looks like even with the newer drivers SLi will still need to be disabled, but knowing my luck i have probably done something different. either way i now have both GPU's being utilised. going to be fun having to change the settings every time i want to play a game tho
