A8R32 MVP Deluxe Overclocking help!! -

Alright, heres my current status!
A64 3000+ stable at 2.52ghz (280HTx9) with DDR settings at "Fixed" 133Mhz Ram. End result is 180Mhz/360MhzDDR, however my bios still says 266Mhz.
Vcore is around 1.47. HT Link says 600Mhz.
Anything higher than 290HT (or around) I can post, however say I browse my BIOS I could lose my USB keyboard, and the BIOS will still function (Temps being read, time moving on, etc)
If I get into windows, it would quietly black screen shortly. More commonly, I'll get an error saying a crucial file is missing or corrupt.
What do I need to do to improve this situation? My suspiscion lays on CPU Voltage, however my board only has 1.45 as it's highest option. It has other voltage settings, but they are very foreign to me.
Anyone help me out? I personally believe this processor can do 2700Mhz.. at least it's running around 45c under load at 280Mhz, and nothing has stopped it. Is it my ram? Timings are 3-4-4-6-8 right now. 2T (2x512 and 2x256)
Thanks for anyone who can help, especially in explaining some of the odd features of the A8R32 MVP Deluxe motherboard

Try ram drive strength 8 and 50/30% reduction on data drive.

Your board supports upto 1.65v. It has an overvoltage option on the same page as everything else - the jumperfree config page. It gives you options to add another 2x +0.1v, so that in conjunction with the processor voltage option gives you a max of 1.65v.
You can also give added voltage your northbridge, which may help if you're being board limited in terms of HTT.
Finally you could always try a lower memory divider. You don't state what speed your RAM is or what core your CPU is, but you're running four sticks and a lower frequency maybe something you could try.
Have a play.

There, that makes some things easier. Sorry thought I had pasted them, twas in a different thread.
All the ram is pc3200 400Mhz rated value ram So I'm just keeping it below 200/400Mhz. at 280HT with 133 I get 180. 300HT would bring it up to around 190. So my ram shouldn't be holding me back? Do I have to enforce different timings? They're running pretty lax as is, and at 180 it doesn't like 3-3-3-8. RasPre has to be 4.
So is it my CPU limiting me, or my ram? I know my board can do over 300HT no problem...

relax as much as you can. Try to raise the northbridge voltage wich is usually 1.8V default. See how it goes.

BTW, raise the HTT link, you lose a lot of performance by lowering it too much.

Well that was easy. HTT Link is 1400 now. I found a quirk with my MB where it needs a hard reboot to keep the link settings...
Can I really put my timings less than 3-3-4-8? It's only at 190Mhz, and even at 300HT doesn't hit 200Mhz, why are lax timings needed?
What type of timings should I try? I've never loosened more than 3-3-4-8

Dont loose them more then. First lets see whats your highest FSB. To do that lower the divider if you must then you can start fine tuning.

I not only know this board will do 400HTT, but it will also do 1500MHz HT without errors...I've done it.
Right now, I'm running my Opty 165 CCBBE 0615DPMW at 3.2GHz @ 1.375V, my DDR400 XMS3202 v1.3 RAM at 582MHz with 2.9V, and pumping 1.5V to all of my Northbridge.
If you follow THIS thread all the way through, your understanding of your board will increase exponentially...I laid out ALL the relevant BIOS options for other's using the same board. It has helped ALOT of people understand how to get where they want to be.
It was so loved over at Driverheaven, that they made it a sticky.
REMEMBER that when going through my guide, what I did may or may NOT work for you and your components. Giving too much voltage to ANY component can fry it, and stupid things like chipset coolers not being mounted properly at the factory can have a severely detrimental effect if you give too much juice.
As with everything else, your overclock depends on many factors. Your CPU's stepping is going to be the biggest considering you already have a killer overclocking board, and I KNOW that DDR400 RAM can easily be overclocked to far beyond it's rated spex given the proper voltage and latency tweaks.
Overclock using my guide as a template...don't just copy my settings right into your BIOS...you'll regret ever having read it. Use the guide to learn what I've done with my components and how it affected my overclock.

Well I made some success. I'm now running 2.57 (lol) 285x9, but I went from 600HT Link to over 1Ghz and reduced my timings to 2.0 4 4 6.
I already am seeing a massive difference in some problem areas I had in some games! I didn't find the HT Link made much of a difference, but for some reason my ram settings sure did!
I CANNOT get over 285 without getting errors in memtest before the 3rd test. I am thinking it's not the memory though since it does not respond much to good settings, same errors. Oh well, 2.57 I guess I'm stuck
