Why ain't you got the option for both? I have a DVD player and a VCR, since I'm not about to go around buying all my old films on DVD just for the sake of it.

I dunno,I forgot. I cant edit a poll so thats all the option there is. Why would you watch old films ?. I never watch old film with my DVD players. I dont even purchase it for my VCR. I just watch new released and last year released.

WHAT?! You deliberately don't watch anything that hasn't been released in the last couple of years? So you're missing out on a whole load of great films that haven't been ported over to DVD yet? Jesus. That's some attitude. Plus, all my classic films that I've got on video at the moment - I can't afford to buy them on DVD at the moment, so have to make do with the VCR. Things like Deer Hunter, Scott of the Antarctic (which will *never* see a DVD release, IMO) and all the thing I recorded from the TV. The only thing I use my DVD for is Japanese films, since most Region 1 and 2 stuff is utter crap.

Looks like you slipped an extra word in there between 'that is' and '**** yall' - should have missed it out for the perfect description of DragonballZ <IMG SRC="smileys/biggrin.gif">

I have both, use vcr's for taping shows on tv and such, and to watch some of the dubbed dbz movies I have....(I cannot stand the american dubbing btw). I also own a bunch of japanese animation on vcr, and which I am not planning on buying for dvd in the near future, since it is quite pricey....(about 120 for the whole set of cowboy bebop, 100 for the oav set of ranma....quite a lot...)<br>
<br>
I have movies on dvd that I have bought on vhs. but some port overs still suck..they just release it for the sake of releaseing it. no improved quaility, no extras's.....<br>
<br>
I agree with Rich too, I dont think all the movies will be ported over to dvd.....if it will happen, it will be when vcr's are about to die

Tell me something ..... have you seen any of the real Japanese anime? I mean the stuff you can buy over there in dodgy shops? I saw plenty while I was over there in December and believe me, it makes all that DragonballZ **** fade into comparison. I liked the original Manga stuff when I was a kid, but on the whole the only Japanese stuff I like is sashimi and Kitano films.

If you were watching the kind of anime I saw in Maebashi when you were a kid, your parents must have had some serious parenting issues to bring up.

X<br>
Akira<br>
Ninja scroll<br>
Bio hunter<br>
Grave of the fire flies<br>
Twighlight X<br>
Also have you seen shin angle the series??,too much hentai but it is very funny as hell.

I would'nt have enjoyed it without the hentai, and it would have only been a 15 (BBFC rating) so i'd have overlooked it. I only used to buy 18 rated anime (but not any more) - Akira being an exception. But i've grown tied of it now. Got into live action again, Hong Kong movies and all that sh1t.<br>

No i've not seen that. I just think that Asians draw really sexy women. And they use college girls. <br>
They sum up the ultimate 'mans film'<br>
Blood<br>
Gore<br>
Action<br>
Sex<br>
Good Story<br>
Monsters<br>
Sex (with monsters).<br>
Sci Fi<br>
<br>
What more could you ask for. They should make a live action overfiend with Kate Winslet.<br>
I'd buy that!<br>
