I’ve flashed my GF3Ti200 (Daytona 128Mb) BIOS with a Ti500 Bios, now the card has Ti500 frequencies but in the windows proprieties the card is still named Ti200, how is it possible? I’ve the same problem with my bios (I change the Device ID from Ti200 to Ti500). Can anybody help me? Please!

The System reads out deviveID from the bios and from some signals coded through different set of resistors on specific spots on the video card. The reason is that there is one rsistor which sits in the wrong place for identifying your Ti 200 as a Ti 500. That would mean that you have to solder on your video card, which I wouldn´t recommend cause you can mess up your card with soldering.
Thanks a lot for your qualified answer...but is it the same for putting a GF3ti200 into a GF3?(even if they have different core....I think)

All you'd be doing is changing the known identity of the Geforce card not anything else. The ram is still the same ram and the core is still the same core. I think the only difference between the Geforce3 Ti200 and Ti500 is that the 200 is 4 layer while the 500 is 6 layer. Though I could be wrong but I have my core speed at 230Mhz and can easily reach 240Mhz on my Ti200.

What does flashing your gf3 ti 200 to a ti 500 do anyways besides upping the core and memory speeds? It seems to me like its only another way of overclocking it.

It is some other way of overclocking. I mean the only difference between Ti 200 and Ti 500 are clockspeeds. Divide the cards up in two labels is only a marketing strategy. The core is the same, all extensions in the driver, D3D or OpenGL doesn´t matter, are the same. And yes it is possible change the deviceID to Geforce3, but I don´t have any information which resistor combination this would be.
The card runs fine , very stable in all games with Ti500 frequences(240/500) but anomalyes at 250/510. I’ve used the Ray Adams bios editor: I first tried a reference nvidia Ti500bios but the card was shown as Ti500 with 64mb DDR, so I saved my bios, changed the DeviceID, frequencies, and the name to Ti500 then flashed. Now the card is correctly shown as 128Mb DDR. If only I could change the name in the win proprieties (into Ti500) it would be perfect! Please HELP ME! I think it’s impossible without a modify hardware of the card :-( .......It’s strange because the core of Ti200&500 card is the same only GF3 has different core.....
