Default X1900XT stock voltages - 10-22-2006, 13:40 | posts: 4 | Location: I don't live - I have no life

Hi all,

I'm a new ATI user and spent some time experimenting with my new Sapphire X1900XT (256MB) with Revoltec Graphic Freezer Pro attached.
ATT seems to be a very good option to start experimenting ;-)

Currently I have set my card the following way:

2d GPU: 425Mhz @ 1.1V
2d Mem: 531Mhz @ 1.8425V
(this results in about 45 degrees centigrade GPU temp)

3d GPU: 709Mhz @ 1.475V
3d Mem: 792Mhz @ 1.8245V
(this results in a max of 83 degrees centigrade after two hours of Gothic3)

I feel comfortable with the power settings for the GPU but I'm a bit unsure about the memory.
What is the default voltage for the memory on an X1900XT in 3d mode?
I read about 2.0833V but could not confirm this on my card.

Is it true that the original default power settings were:

2d GPU: 1.2 V
2d Ram: 1.8425V

3d GPU: 1.45V
3d Ram: 2.0833V

?

If so, what is a reasonable voltage range for the memory - considering an aircooled (Revoltec GFP) X1900XT ?

Cheers,

Emacs

Update:

Setting the memory voltage for 3d to 2.0833V I can set the memory to 810Mhz without any problems (no artefacts in the tester, nor in the game).

A very short try to set something to 2.2 V to the memory just resulted in instant freeze of the whole PC.

Cheers,

Emacs

According to ATI Tray Tools, this is how my voltage situation is:

Stock 2D GPU Voltage - 1.2 V (500 Mhz)
Stock 2D Mem Voltage - 2.0861 V (600 Mhz)

Stock 3D GPU Voltage - 1.450 V (621 Mhz)
Stock 3D Mem Voltage - 2.0861 V (724 Mhz)

I've only personally tried OCing to 700/800 on stock voltages, never going higher, and I haven't come across any artifacting or freezing yet.

EDIT: Sorry, I just noticed you had a 256 MB x1900xt, not 512 mb. So it's likely that my voltages will differ from yours.

There are no 3D voltage for Memory yet. Its always stick at same value in 2d and 3d.

Okay, my card (Sapphire X1900XT with 256MB) seems to be different then.

The BIOS voltage for the memory is 1.8425V. Setting the voltage to anything around 2V (using ATT) results in a complete freeze of my system sooner or later (roughly after one or two hours of gaming).

I guess, I'll better stick with the default 1.8425V then...

Cheers,

Your card probably has Samsung's K4J55323QG-BC12 mem modules - they are capable to work at max @800 MHz with 1.8V +/-0.1. X1900XT 512MB cards have different, 1.1ns modules, working with 2.0V +/-0.1

I can't set the voltages at all with ATT, any idea why?

Explain me more, how you can not set voltage?
