this is what he said-from another forum.
Tried a quick bench at 3D Mark 2001 with everything on the Radeon at default (275/275 no tweaks) and managed to score 8465. A GF3 would need to score around 8800 due to the fact LOD tweaks are used with all the decent scores. There were no visual anamolies to report in the bench and everything appeared smooth and stable, only the game scores make up the result so I didn't bother with the theoreticals.
Compare url is here
Q3 seems a little washed out but this is due to game optimisation, still 109fps at 1600x1200x32 HQ in M.E is nothing to be sniffed at. Will try other popular games and report back, so far so good.
Oh and the 2D is to die for

Radeon 8500 has terrible drivers. That score isn't too bad, although most Ti 500's are in the 7000 pt range.

Why would you want to upgrade to get a few extra marks in 3dmark
If you want better performance from your system you could try overclocking the video or the CPU.
I get 7948 3dmarks with my Ti500 o/c-ed to 255/520, but i leave the card at defaults for running games, the card is fast enough for any games out there.
