My parents want a new bedroom TV. Flat screen, LCD, 26'', HDTV. I'm always asked to "find one" for them. I don't know much about HDTVs and LCDs.

I saw this one on sale for $999.

It's a Sharp Aquos. Seems to look decent, and it's certainly cheaper than others of similar size. Comes with a wide variety of connectors and supposedly has a built in HD tuner.
I don't know, what do you guys think? Is there anything better that's not too expensive?

Good day,

Sharp lcd's look very nice and are of high quality, but they often have very low contrast like 500:1.

In my opinion, Samsung lcd tv's are better in the price range of 999 dollar.
Some of the Samsung lcd have contrast of 3000:1 and some newer models even have 5000:1. You will see the difference, crispier image and since most Samsung lcd's use PVA lcd, the color of the screen will be very/extremely beautifull too!

Good luck!
