Default Lan and Raid strange problem - 08-09-2006, 02:20 | posts: 4 | Location: Ontario Canada

I've ran a small home network of 4 PCs for the last few years with static addresses, all connected trough
a wired router. I wired the house myself before the wireless wave. Actually the router is wireless but...
Last week I replaced one of the computers with a newly built one. I set a Raid 0 there. Its an Abit KN8
SLI with 2 gig of memory and an Athlon X2 4800.
The LAN still working but I can't connect to or map
the Drive C, the Raid array in the new PC. I can see it from any other PC but when I try to connect I get the message:" not enough server storage is available to process this command". I can map 2 external
drives ( 1 SATA, 1 USB ) in the same PC with no
problem. Sharing and permissions are OK.
I don't have experience with RAID, this is my first.
So I'm really pulling my hair on this, any idea will be welcomed.

What is your PageFile set at? Did you adjust it in any way or turn it off?

Very weird though.

Tx for the suggestion, I ussualy limit the size of the page file, so I gave a try with Windows managed size at both ends with no luck.
Researching MS database I found that some controllers have this kind of trouble when the write cache is enabled and set for best performance. So I disabled it in both HDD and still no luck, but even with with the write back cache disabled the "set for best performance" still checked and greyed and can not be changed. What I didn't try was cancelling both write and read caches. That's next. Sorry for the long post. Still any ideas welcome.
