Ok tech geeks try this one. I have 2 computers networked thru Internet Connection Sharing and Windows Me, both are working great, no problems. The problem is when my son and I try and play Lan games (ie..Quake2, Quake3, ect........). It no worky. I run the server program on the host side and it loads fine, up to actually entering the game (in a listen setup), if I load a dedicated server it loads fine until my son or I go into the game which is listed in the games multiplayer server, then it kicks back to the main screen. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I had a similar problem with quake 3. I could setup a server but no-one on the network could see my game, they all tried to connect to the net via my machine... nice. Same happened when they setup a server ( icoundnt see the game and tried to connect to the net)
Only happened in q3 !!
Try disabling ICS and as above make the ip's static.
Also make sure that you have different cd-keys for each comp. I assume you only bought the game once
