Angry Cannot overclock anymore, autoreset? - 03-31-2006, 06:51 | posts: 8

I own a Sapphire X1600 pro:
I found out that the GPU can be overclocked a lot 550-600 are possible without problems. Memory overclock is a bit difficult, you should not go further than about 432-436 (as I've been told)
Now I 'v got a very strange problem: I overclocked it with ATI Tray Tools because I wanted to show fps (u cannot in ATItool), then it crashed and now i cannot overclock again in ATI tray tools, it instantly resets to the default values. It still works with ATItool. Very strange. What could be the problem?

ATI Tray Tools doesn't support overclocking for X1300/X1600/X1800/X1900! I have no idea how you did it

Oh, well then I probably overclocked it with atitool, exit and then started ati tray tools. This way I can use the show fps function.

ps: you should integrate support for the Radeon X Series, because the 1600 and the 1900 version could be overclocked quite good!

I, too, have Overclocking Disabled -- but I'm using a 9600 Mobility.

Oblivion was running too slowly, so I fdisked and installed fresh. Installed the latest Omega drivers and ATI Tray Tools (3.8.231 / 1.0.5.824). Beforehand, I was underclocking to fix the artifacting issues so many Sager 8790 owners are experiencing, and now I pretty much can't game at all until I get this underclocked again.

Any ideas?

I just checked for updates, and the new build fixed the OC issue. Cheers!
