Nothing to unlock on a 6600 card. You already have the maximum number of pipelines and VPs that chip supports.

If you know you have a 6600 - then both 6600 GT and 6600 "plain" have 8x1 pixel pipes, 3 vertex processors.
while 6600 LE have 4x1 pixel pipes, 3 vertex processors.
It's a NV43 - and max. on that is 8x1 pixel pipes, 3 vertex processors.
See for yourself at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compari...ocessing_Units
RivaTuner's "Graphic subsystem diagnostic report" will tell you all there is to know.
"Display adapter information"
Device ID
and
"NVIDIA specific display adapter information"
Graphics core
Hardwired ID
are the ones you can look at.

256-bit nv40(a1,12x1,5vp) means you have a GeForce 6800, yes.
It has 12x1 pixel pipelines, 5 vertex processors at the default.
If you are lucky - that is, your card is a good sample, you can get
16x1 pixel pipelines and/or 6 vertex processors.
How-to is in RivaTuner ReadMe,
c:\Program Files\RivaTuner\Doc\ReadMe.htm
search for
"try NV40 softmodding"
It's also on "NV4x softmodding with RivaTuner 2.0 RC15.1. Frequently asked questions."
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=105181
And finally, a very detailed walk-through with images etc.
