Is there any program that will check and make sure thiers nothing wrong with your video card?

I posted a few days ago about temp and dust.I had the pc cleaned out. However the card is still running warmer then normal.Which i dont think 63C is that high for idle But i would like to know why it jumped from 55 -57 C now it running around 63C in idle.

Any thoughts on this?

mm so u have the same card as me yeah?

if u run 63 on idle, then yes, the temps are 10c higher than my unlocked bfg 6800 gs...

today im buying a silencer to reduce the temps. i think you should or just take off the cooler, clean it up and replace the thermal paste

EDIT:

have you got any pics of your system? if like to see the cooling set up you use.

Just have stock cooling. NO OC.
nVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT (BFG)
The room temp has not changed from when it was running 57C.

Only thing i can think of is the age and stress on the card.

also i didnt mess with the video card i blew the fan on the card the best i could.I may take the pc to a shop and let the pros mess with the card.I dont trust myself todo it.

Besides cleaning the cooler on the card itself. Do you think the age and stress of playing hl2 and fear and other games for 2 years cause the temp to start running higher

might sound stupid but maybe the thermal paste is wearing out? i mean if you havent changed it for 2 years, then id take it its not arctic silver 5? i think it makes quite a big difference in temps compared to other thermal compounds. if you dont trust yourself to change it, then as you said take it to the pro`s and let em do it

Nope i brought the card and had them put it in and have not touched it since.Im going to go and see what it will cost to have the gpu cleaned and maybe if im able to buy some heat sinks and put on the card aswell.

Arctic silver5 is that the best paste how much does it cost?

you might have bumped the cooler meaning it isn't sitting on the core properly

AS5 for a 3.5gram tube should be around $5-6USD.
It doesn't sound like you get much, but for that size tube you should be able to do about 15-20 large CPUs like an AMD64 and from what I've seen of the nVidia GPU it's only a bit smaller than that.
