Exclamation Acer 4202 (dual core, Intel 950) vs 4402 (single core, x700) - 01-30-2006, 17:47 | posts: 2,534 | Location: NYC

I need an ultraportable laptop and I'm considering over these two:

Acer Travelmate 4202
Intel Core Duo T2300 (1.66Ghz)
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 (the best one as far as I can tell)
1GB DDR2 667

Acer Travemate 4402
AMD Turion64 1.6Ghz
ATI x700 with 64MB dedicated memory
512MB DDR 333

Both are 1.3" thick and around $1150-1300
I'm planning to do schoolwork mostly (I hope) and occasional gaming

Which one is better? And does anyone have any better suggestions? I'd also prefer a laptop with a built in camera.

If you're going to do any gaming at all I'd go with the 2nd one. Trust me, I had to use the GMA 950 before I upgraded to the 7800GT, and man was that ever a pain. And laptop ram is upgradeable, so you can up it to 1gig later.
