Hey guys,
I'm going to buy a cheap used Apple PowerBook G4 so i need some advice... Yes, i need it for graphic applications, and not forgetting the awesome Garage Band... The question is: It is a 550 MHz PowerPC G4 Processor with 512mb of ram and 40GB hard disk... And it only have 16mb of graphic power (ATi Mobility Radeon) with it...
So, is it worth the money or is it just a waste of time & cash?
Will it perfrom good?, It only runs on 550 MHz processor, so thats y i'm so worried...
The item is 85% new....
Hope all u gurus out that can help me out...
Peace...

Another thing that bothers me is the graphic power... only 16MB of VGA ram? Will it run photoshop, illustrator, dreamweaver, flash, garage band smoothly???

a 550 G4 is a bit underpowered these days, I don't think you would be too happy with it especially compared to the notebook in your specs.

your current laptop will be fine with all of the applications you want to run.
Get yourself some more ram and it will be very good indeed.

Nothing wrong with your current laptop. I would definately get more memory. If you got 1gb PC2700 DDR, it probably wouldn't be bad for gaming. You can get it for about $100-110 US.
There is not much you could do with that older iBook.
