i just got 3dmark05 (trial version) and when i run it it crashes after a few minutes. i'm getting about 3-10 fps while its running. the reason i got it is cause i think my refresh rate of 60Hz and fps in games is causing tearing. i was hoping to use 3Dmark to find out what sort of fps i'm getting in dod:source so i can set the refresh rate accordingly. i'm sure its faster than 3-10fps in the game.

i got fraps. thanks for that it does exactly what i want it to do. my monitor refresh rate as i said is at 60Hz and fps in game goes between 40-80 depending on whats happening on screen. occasionally drops down to 3-5 but slowly comes back up to around 40-80fps. when i changed the refresh rate to 70 my desktop went really wierd like the edges were too big to fit on the monitor. ati 3D controlpanel says it was only showing refresh rate options my monitor could display so why did it go wierd?

i'll ask this question here cause i don't want to start a new thread-its not totally off subject. to overclock using ATT, do i just move the memory/gpu slider to wherever i want or does it have to be calculated correctly? to increase FPS should i just overclock the ram on the card or should i do the gpu as well. does it have to be divided up specifically or can i simply move the slider. also, do i have to save the profile or will it stay overclocked when i open ATT? thanks.
