I got roped into another one!
A friend has a PC with a SOYO-5SSM motherboard. (AMD K6 processor.)Her kid can't play his game so my wife had me get a VisionTek Xtasy video card (PCI). Well, the computer doesn't boot up witht he video card in place -- it doesn't even pass the POST.

Do I have to disable the motherboard's onboard video? Is there a jumper or a BIOS change needed?

Thanks!!!

For sure you have to disable the onboard video. Read the mobo manual cause some mobo use jumper, some use bios, some got auto detect function. If you lost the manual, try search at soyo website.

Yes, I have been looking. SOYO tech support has not yet responded and I am unable to find the information on their site. Thanks, anyway.
