Unwinder could you add a command to turn off monitor via hotkey ? With my old ATI card was present in ATT but I can't seem to find it with my nvidia card.
Any news about rivatuner 15.8 release date ?
Thanks for your hard work.

Sorry, see no sense in adding such function to RT.

Why not? Shouldn't RT make access to hidden/difficult settings and functions of our cards ?
At night when I go to bed I can't wait 10 minutes for the monitor to turn off. The switch button is my only option with an nvidia card but switch buttons are weak, expecially on LCD like mine. I alredy broke a monitor switch, I don't want to risk my 380€ LCD.
Anyway don't you always say you don't want to replicate functions alredy present in nvdia CP? This function is not present, so why excluding an improvement on RT, even small?

Because this function is absolutely not related to graphics card tuning/diagnostic, and I'm afraid that it will be used by only one man. No way, doesn't worth it.

any chance of allowing the monitor inf creator to create infs with refresh rates lower then 60hz? 55hz for example?

Only if monitor physically supports it.

most monitors support below 60hz but you need to create a custom resolution to install it as the drivers don't

my hyundai v770+ for example is locked in driver to 1280x1024 @ 60hz

but i can use a custom profile to set it to up to 1600x1200 @ 55hz.

if an inf could be created that would allow it to be dropped lower it would mean higher resolution on lesser priced monitors, hence a quality increase

Then how do you think, what is the purpose of edit boxes allowing editing min/max horizontal/vertical scan freqnencies?

That what's a point of posting any chance of allowing the monitor inf creator to create infs with refresh rates lower then 60hz? 55hz for example??!?!
Don't make a mess from monitor's inf and the list of display modes supported by OS/driver.

to allow higher resolution

as i said. my standard monitor drivers allows for 1280x1024 @ 60hz

but i can create a custom nvidia resolution to run at 1600x1200 @ 55hz

allowing custom infs to have the min hz be lower then 60 would make it easier to run custom resolutions.

You seem to misunderstand basics
Monitor's inf DOESN'T deterimne the list of supported display modes. It only defines limits for h/v scan frequencies and max resolution.

....why does it have settings for v frequency then?

v frequency is the refresh rate technically...

It is just a limits supported by monitor. The list of actual modes corresponding to these limits is build by display driver (ForceWare in your case)

hmm..., i shall have to check this out, if the forceware driver can create an override to make it work at 55hz then there must be a way to create a driver to allow it to go that low...

It is possible to add this custom mode to ForceWare's inf file. But not to the monitor's one.

hmm, ok

i was having an issue with it where if i created a custom mode it would only load in the mode, i could change the mode back to something else but it would be back at 1600x1200 the next reboot.
