Question Suggest some Notebooks with AMD64 !!! - 08-13-2005, 07:07 | posts: 205 | Location: Miami, USA

Hi all,

I am just lookin to buy a Notebook, powered by AMD 64. And i am also a gamer, so i jus need to play all games not specifically at the maximum details though.

So can anyone suggest with a decent choice to pick one from it. Budget should not exceed 2000$ as per my choice...... but really if anything available under 1500$ it wud be great for me.

Thanks in advance for help.

Have a Nice Day !!!!!

I suggest u forget about the AMD Athlon 64
and go for the AMD Turion 64...

Those are cpu's designed for notebooks, with far less power consumption and heat.

That is if ur an AMD fan and want 64bit cpu on ur notebook.

But there was a benchmark between the Turion and Centrino, the Centrino won hands down... So now AMD has newer Turion's planned on its roadmap, which should be on par with the centrino's...

Yeah, Turion is the way to go. The P-M does perform better and consumes a bit less power, but you would have to forgoe 64-bit. Acer has some nice notebooks, but looks like only the ferrari model would really fit the bill for you:

Lots more with P-M though... Unfortunately, the comination of Turion and high-end graphics may be a bit tough to track down, as they are both somewhat rare by themselves and particularly taken together.

A bit over $2000 for the ferrari:

Better price (and performance) for this one, though:
