Default Game Profiles O/C Question - 08-05-2005, 00:40 | posts: 11 | Location: Michigan

I created a profile for World of Warcraft. Under Hardware > Overclocking I have Before set to Manual Overclock with a profile for 525/575. After is set to Manual Overclock 500/500 to set my X800XT back to default speeds. I created a shortcut on my desktop from ATI Tray Tools but when I ALT-TAB out of World of Warcraft it shows my speeds at 500/500. If I leave After at default with no settings World of Warcraft overclocks fine. But I want the system to clock back to 500/500 when i'm done what do I need to do?

Thanks

I think you created game profile for game launcher not for game executable.

Same like for launcher
The difference:
Look for Half-Life 2. There are steam.exe - its launcher, actual game executable is hl2.exe

Thanks for the Tips,

I've tried two different things and neither seemed to work for overclocking with a specifc application. I can manually overclock but I really want to get ATI Tray Tools to only overclock with 3d apps.

1. I tried automatic 2d&3d overclocking. But ATI Tray Tools does not seem to recognize World of Warcraft and it does not bump my speeds.

2. I tried making a game profile for World of Warcraft but that does not seem to work either. I point to wow.exe which as far as I know and I checked the task manager is the games executable. I set the before to my 530/580 profile and after to my default 500/500 profile. If I alt-tab out of Worlf of Warcraft it is not overclocked.

Please help, thanks.

Try to enable OSD in this game and look for GPU and Memory spee4d inside game, and then hit Alt-Tab and check again

Ray Adams thank you for all the help.

I turned on the GPU and Memory Clock OSD. Here are my results.

Auto 2D&3D Overclock won't recognize WoW.exe so my clocks stay at 500/500 default. I'm going to try Farcry tonight and see how that works.

When I create a Game Profile for WoW.exe if I set the Before to my 525/575 profile everything works great. But if I set anything in the After option it uses that. So if I have 500/500 in the After option that seems to override my Before setting of 525/575.

Is the After option supposed to be what you want your settings to be after the program closes? Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks again for all the help.

If OSD works its mean ATT can detect this application as 3D. But if applicati9on can exits during game or lets say restart it self, ATT can lost its as a GAME after first restart, so you will get clocks you out in After field.
I don't have this game so I can not check it yet.
It this game available for download without payment?

Has there been any solution found for this problem? If I specify an "After OC", it seems to be firing even when the game is still running. If I only specify the "Before OC" option, it works OK, but then I have to manually reset my clocks when the game ends.

This is very strange situation. I don't have WoW yet. Can some one check installation folder of this game for any .exe files and give me a list of them?

Aside from the patch dowload exe's, there's only one other and that's wowerror.exe. Also, when I check the task list while WoW is running, I can still see wow.exe, so I know it's not passing off execution to another exe or dll.

edit: also, you may be able to download the test client and reproduce this, if you don't have the game. The link is at

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/downl...downloader.exe

I haven't tried that myself, though, so no guarentees. You don't have to log in to see the problem, as the "After" profile triggers as soon as the game is launched.
