Default MediaAccK.exe - 04-14-2005, 22:03 | posts: 53

Hi,

Got a problem with a program called MediaAccK.exe It was causing problems with windows by not allowing it to shut down properly and kept giving an error message that wouldn't go away. After a system restore it was gone but then came back. I managed to find where it was hiding c:/Program Files/Media Access and was also on the add/remove programs in the control panel. So i took steps to uninstall it and delete the directory.

Thinking i had cracked it i restarted and when i log into windows AdAware tells me that it is trying to modify the regsitry from the same directory c:/Program Files/Media Access i select block but it keeps happening everytime i reboot or login. How can it be trying to modify the registry when i deleted the path it is referring to ? Is this dnagerous and how do i stop it ? Should i just let it modify the registry and hope for the best ?

If i select block on AdAware its cool and if i check the task manager there is no program called MediaAccK.exe running like there was before i uninstalled it.

Do I have a problem ?

I believe that MediaAcck.exe is actually a microsoft component, something to do with WMP.
