Stick with the stock one until you have the money... then go for a Swiftech or ThermalRight SP-94.

hmm my stock ones giving out soon.. haha listen to this

i have TIED, thats right, TIED a delta 4800 RPM fan to the top of the heatsink as the stock fan snapped off (i need to be more careful), its doing a MUCH better job than the old heatsink, BUT, load temps are extremely high 55-70 C, and im really worried my P4 is just gonna give out. its abt 2 years old, perhaps 3, and i really dont have the money to invest in a new CPU.

i had a gigabyte GH-PCU31-VH 3D Cooler Ultra cooler w/artic silver 3 on my p4.the temp at heavy load was between 38c-48c plus the 2.8EGHz was overclocked slightly to 3.0GHz.but now i have switched to water cooling.it hell of a lot better than any fan+heat sink combination.

what kind of watercooling setup have you used? put it together yourself with custom parts or got one of those external water cooling devices?

A Zalman CNPS7700-Cu, one of the world's best coolers, is only about $40.

And not only does it cool the entire MOBO, but it'll last you for years.

Sell some blood or something if you have to, but get one of these, dawg.

If you're going to switch to watercooling, it's probably going to cost you a lot more than a silent fan and a decent heatsink.

Those kits from Thermaltake aren't worth bothering with either.

Agreed.

Thermaltake makes some truly awesome cases, but their PSU's and cooling solutions are....well, they're junk.
