Default Using ATT with Omega's - 02-28-2005, 15:51 | posts: 200 | Location: Canada

Hey everyone! I've been having problems with my gamma, so I use the ATI tray tools to set profiles and use hotkeys to activate them. The thing is, if I try to install the omega drivers and use ati tray tools, I get graphical anomalies. I would just like to know if any of you know another program that i could run in the background and use hotkeys to activate colour profiles in conjunction with the Omega drivers (or any other tweaked drivers).

Thanx in advance.

What kind of anomalies you got? I never sow any incompatible issues between ATT and Catalyst driver.
So it seems that problem in Omega's tweaks

Hi Ray, I also got problem with ATT. In overdrive tab, the sensor detect the environment temp, not the core temp. When I enable overdrive, the artifacts show up. This never happen till I use ATT. I use catalyst 5.1.

The anomalies I get are probably caused by the Omega's conflicting with the settings I had set with the ATT. I'm now actually restraining myself not to use omega's cause I love ATT so much.

Ray, Ati Tray Tools kick ass! Keep up the good work!

What kind of artifact and where? Do you overclock your card using ATT before startinf OverDrive?

The problem solved, I tried again to enable overdrive, and everything was ok.

The artifacts came when I enable the Overdrive option and the ATT was running in background.

No, I don't. I just try anything in Ati properties. By the way, what makes that in overdrive tab the temp is the env temp ? Not the core temp ? This happens after I install the ATT.

I have the same problem as well. Whenever I use the monitoring graphs, it shows the environment temp.
Usually my card is 60-65 degrees, but the graph shows it to be 44.

Who told you this information? OverDrive? Ok. OverDriver add 20C to the temeprature from sensore. ATT shows temperature without this additional 20C. This can be happened only for 9800XT boards.

Yes .
Here is an question and answer from RivaTuner FAQ by Unwinder.
I have the same situation with ATI Tray Tools, so I will just quote his text.
Quote:
Q: Why do I see noticeable difference in core temperatures monitored by RivaTuner and ATI Overdrive tab on my RADEON 9800XT? Does RivaTuner incorrectly read info from the sensor? Will you fix it?
A: I will not fix anything, quite opposite I'd suggest ATI to fix their own control panel. RivaTuner displays the only core temperature that can be retrieved from RADEON 9800XT hardware sensor with the maximum accuracy. ATI already admitted that RADEON 9800XT boards don't have on-die thermal diode, and the temperature is monitored by the thermistor located near the graphics processor. So the temperature displayed by the control panel's Overdrive tab is just an attempt to approximate the real on-die temperature by adding constant 20°C offset to the real sensor's temperature. If you believe that such correction can approximate the real temperature with +/-2°C inaccuracy like ATI claims - you are free to specify 20°C offset for temperatures monitored by RivaTuner. To do it right-click core temperature graph, select Setup from the popup menu then enter 20°C temperature offset and click OK. lf you prefer to see the real sensor's temperatures instead of tying to guess on-die temperature - just use default settings.
