Is it the heat? or is it the voltage?

I got my proc. running on 38c idle and 46c max, when running on 2.00v (with my new cooling!)
and when i had the old cooling it used to run on 55c max on load when running on stock speed and voltages...

which one of the cases shortens the lifetime of a cpu?
(i can run stable on 2.00v 2405mhz, and have it on 46c max.., and i can run on 1.65v 2100mhz and have it on 29c max i think lol..)

please, experts... advise me..

PS.. Incase you're wondering.. I've got Aerocool DP-102.. And installed on it's sides are 2 thermaltake A2003 fans + i installed two 120mm fans on the sides. finally i have superb cooling.

Voltage is what really shortens the life of the CPU, heat as long as it does not run too high too long (60C range) should not effect the life of the CPU.

Voltage will always shorten the life of the processor, but we are talking 15-20years down to around 7-10years. But really who keeps a processor that long anyways. There of course is always a chance you could fry the CPU at anytime with too much voltage.

Yeah, what Marley said - about the voltage.
As long as your temps are okay then you aren't gonna shorten its life so much that it will die real soon. Apparently running 2v through an AXP is fine as long as you have good cooling (which you do) but remember your NF7 (if you are using that) undervolts the vcore so 2.00v will be more like 1.93v.

heh... actually its really 2.02v atm because i use AN7 not NF7-S .. i switched and AN7 overcolts AMOF(as matter of fact)

Yeah... I replied to your other thread again BTW.

"AMOF" That's a new one on me !

I still think 2v for a ~300MHz increase is a little crazy but whatever floats your boat.

well the change is definetly noticable...
i think that soon when the thermal paste becomes settled i can decrease voltage actually...
it always goes like this...
and there's always a first time (AMOF) (like my first hitting 2400 lol)

Yeah your temps will decrease 2-3c when the paste beds in and also whilst you're running your CPU @2v you are doing a very effective burn-in method, so I guess it's not a bad thing.

You reply too fast, slow down, Lol.

lol yeah
now i dropped tho to 1.90v and running on 2350mhz
i think thats more than plenty of an overclock...
i wonder how my 2400+ would do with the overclock tho
my 2400 is AIXHB and the 2600 is AIUHB
