So my SB card sits on IRQ 17, which isn't shared with anything (according to the device manager when viewing connections by resources) yet I'm still receiving buzzing-what do I do now?

Mute all inputs you are not using...Mic_in, Line_in...ETC. Then download an install the newest driver avaialbel for the card.

Hmm really? I'll try that...but what about when the buzzing comes in while alt+tabbing out of a game then alt+tabbing back? Like in WoW for example, when I Alt+tab out the buzzing and popping kicks in, does this fall in line with muting the unused inputs or the regular Creative mess?

Well I built a new comp and I am getting the SOD with the audigy 4.

The minidump said its related to the sound driver. I got the card on its own IRQ...cleaned the drivers and put on the newest ones. Now in BF 2142 it freezes and reboots whenever I play. My other games are fine though.

First I will update Open AL then I am going to try BF2142 again without my HOTAS and Driving wheel plugged in and see if its that. If not I am going to try the old driver on the CD if that doesnt work then back to onboard sound.

Its amazing Creative have no attempt at a solution to this ancient problem...Any recommendations on a non creative gaming soundcard?

Well i have it fixed so far...but it still gave me a SOD with onboard enabled.

So I undated the bios, intel chipset, aud driver, onboard lan driver and played 4-5 hours of BF2142 with no crash. Too bad the sound is worse than my soundblaster...makes me wonder if the SB would work now since after I did all the system updates it has worked fine.....

I don't have any IRQ issues, but I do have some conflicts with various devices and the PCI bus...and I'm only receiving the popping/studdering feedback when SLI is enabled...anything you can help me with by looking at this?:

Also, and this may be normal-I don't remember, I have the following device listed 17 times in the device manager:

"PCI standard ram controller"

Listed 3 times (and I believe this is normal):

"Motherboard resources"

and listed 4 times:

"PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge"

Normal or odd?

It is only called a conflict if there is a problem. If there is no issue then it is called "sharing"..stupid Microsoft idea.. SLI mobos tend to have trouble with many soundcards. You can try another PCI slot. Also disable unused devices. Serial ports, printer ports..etc. this frees up IRQ' and other resources your soundcard may remap it self to. Check with your Mobo manufacturer and see if there is a new BIOS update. Good luck.

Those devices seem normal..it depends on how the MOBO is designed. You can't really do anything with them. I was speaking with a user that had noise issue with a PRelude and it turned out to be a USB camera he had. Hope that helps.

I have been surviving on an integrated soundcard for the last year since replacing my computer and finally decided i needed to put in a proper card, so i fished out my creative audigy 2 ZS from my old computer.

There is just one problem - everytime i restart my computer it doesnt work and i have to uninstall and reinstall it, then it works fine. I can't find any conflicts, no shared IRQ and changing the PCI slot doesn't help. Drivers are the most recent and windows always detects the card, just won't play any sounds till it has been reinstalled every time.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

I found a bug in x-fi

When connected to front audio plugs, left speaker makes cracky sounds..
Disconnected and no problems.
Front plugs work well with integrated audio so its not broken.

I have X-FI XtremeGamer and Logitech Z-5500.
Does this Toslink Miniplug cable works as optical connection between these two devices?
http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?product=33
(I know only that the toslink end compatible with Z-5500 connection.)

Edit:Got a compatible cable with a good price.

Not to bump too much, but it looks like even the PCI-E Titanium has the SCP (snap, crackle, pop) issues. I wonder if all the issues us nforce board owners have with Creative is simply bad drivers and not bandwith at this point?

Lol funny i have a thread going on a strange problem i got on my system all of sudden, and i hope this is still being watched lol.

after running since december when i found out that the reason i got a BSOD was because of my Page File using Windows own setting it dont set enough so i manually set minimum to be my ram size and maz double and since then my card worked perfect like a wonder.

I have PCI-E Tritanium Fatal1ty Champions Series with Creative Gigaworks S750 sound system.

Well here a few days ago my sound wouldnt start but got on i didnt think more about it now its a gambling for when my sound works or not. Some times it works sometimes it dont the light in the I/O works the cars also has ligt. The speakers crack a little when sound starts and when sounds stops and windows sees my card everything sees it all diagnostic tools claims everything works. Yet it plays no sound. When it does come back and working then well my god it plays well. I just wonder what could make it happen after 3 month working perfect. I had a accident with logitech drivers ****ing up my PC so i had to reinstall windows i did, and it was like 4 or 5 days after i did that it startet going wrong for my soundcard, only thing i did since everything was installed was trying the /PAE option in boot.ini to test something removing that did not help. And it came 2 days after i set that feature.

Today i have cleaned everything with Creative and will do a last clean after a restart then i reinstall drivers and restart and hope my best. If not i reinstall windows if that fails i need to test by pulling card out and in if not i have to give it to a friend for testing but its fustrating all this. Its placed in the last slot on my Motherboard there is no other place to put it its place 1 slot from my GF, well 2 techincal as the GF fills to slots with the space it takes for its coolor lol. If i want to test in another PCI-E slot i would need to place it between my 2 GF which i dont think is smart.

But the fact it worked for 3 month perfect and all my issues came because of faulty Logitech drivers forcing me to restart makes me wonder.

So any ideas or input would be loved.

Unhappy Help me, sound problems in game, no irq conflict - 06-22-2009, 14:05 | posts: 26 | Location: TEXAS

so here is my problem, im getting sound stuttering, not severe, could be just clicking, but it doesnt happen during any sound playback aside from during video games, obviously its a video card IRQ conflict right?

WRONG

the sound card is on 18

the video card is on 16

so i need to know, why am i getting this problem. and the gently constant clicking noise only happens when sound is playing in game

OK, I solved my other issues but I still have one with my x-fi xtreamgamer. No matter I do my mic wont work. The mic works with the onboard sound but not with the card. When I goto control panel, and then sound, I look under recording. It shows my mic as working but when I go to configure it, it doesnt pick up any sound. I dont see it muted any where, and even with boost turned on it doesnt pick up my voice. Also it doesnt show any info on the jack. Weither I plug it in the front or rear, nothing. So could any one help me with this mic issue?

Thank you for your time

Holy crap, I got it to work. It is kinda low but its a start. I did a search on here but what I was looking for didnt come up, just this thread. I did a google and found another link to these forums, and it was my answer. Weird thing was I put the same keywords in. Seems you have to have something in the rear jacks as well as the front for it to work. Weird set up and boy am I gonna let creative support know about this solution. I read posts for the last 5 hours looking for a answer. So now all I need to do is find out how to make it louder. I have the line volume and boost maxed, hope Ifind it tomorrow, I am going to bed now.

Thanks
