Im new to AMD and have had no experience with their set up.What would Guru3d members recommend as to the timings of the ram? read on the net timings for the 64 3200+ were 3-2-3-10 and with stock x4 ht ? would that be the same for the fx-53 if thats a stupid question then im sorry! but i am a complete newbie when it comes to AMD!!lol be gentle please.

is that the s940 or the s939 FX-53? if it is the s940 you need to make sure that ram is ECC ram or it won't work. the best thing to do with the timings is to put it in and set it to auto then see how it performs and then play with it, because it is hard to tell you what you should set the timings to when we no nothing about your system setup(eg. fsb, multi, etc.). you have the 4x HTT right though.

hi mate, my mate has bout the same ram i think (or the 3500) and he gave me a link to a really good review. its awesome ram and is gauranteed to run at 3.ov (ouch) it gives a good guide on its latencys and overclockability. Hope this helps.

For that ram, try 3-2-2-x, and see how far you can overclock, then slack off to 3-3-2-x. If you're running it stock, 2.5-2-2-x should be obtainable if you give them some voltage.
