I have a 9700 mobile in an emachines laptop (A64 3200 2.0gb) and it does pretty good.
It plays far cry on medium settings without any problems.
3dm03 score of 2450, not too bad for a laptop i guess.
All I know about the go5700 is that alienware uses them in their high-end laptops. That says something i guess.

i got 23,020 in aquamark on default settings...
new laptop which severely tests the definition of the word "laptop"
acer aspire 1714 with p4 3.4ghz desktop chip with HT, 1gig ram, 128mb go5700, 120gb hd
this thing is absurd. 16lbs, HUGE screen, and too big for any carrying case ive seen so far

Wow 2450 seems low for a 9700, even if it is a lappy, but farcry on medium settings seems right so I guess who cares...

Benchmarks are below, specs are on the right
BTW, best card for laptop is the Mobility 9800. They perform between a desktop 9700 Pro and 9800 Pro. However they are still only available on DEll's Inspiron's 9100 and XPS laptops

I've never seen an Ati "Pro" mobility chipset... but everyone calls em pro in this thread. I am sure that neither the 9700 or 9800 moblility chips are called "pro" but not so sure there isnt a 9600pro mobile...

For the MR 96xx series it depends on the clock speeds of the gpu/memory and the amount of VRAM...64mb=Pro/128=Pro Turbo
Dell calls it MR 9600 Pro Turbo
http://www1.ca.dell.com/content/prod...pecstab#tabtop
and Anandtech and Toms also confirm it
